Help using MS Outlook
« on: May 17, 2012, 11:45 PM »
I've got really frustrated with sending my emails. The problem is I'm trying to send a large file using my Yahoo account and of course there's a limit for the upload size. So as a solution I tried those "send large file website like dropsend for free (free trial)"

My dilemma is after the upload, they're asking me to use MS Outlook. At first I was able to configure the settings for my YMAIL. But when I was about to send the message, i just keep getting the error message and all my mails went directly to outbox (which only means they haven't been send to the supposed receiver).

So how does one use MS outlook? Any expert out-here?

Thanks in advance.

I've run into that. I usually zip them up and send that way. Or you can split them up (if possible).
What type of files are you sending? That may make a difference as well.

Hi drypen. Thanks for answering. They are in pdfs. i archived them. Yes and I did split some of the files. But some of them are particularly large - about 13,000+ kb - 30,000+ kb. That's why i didnt use my Yahoo account to email and attach any of them.  Actually there's no problem with the file because as I said i had used those site (like SENDSPACE & DROPSEND) allowing you to upload up to 2 GB worth of file size for free. So i upload the file there... and when i use to the mail option which is MS outlook to message the link where the file uploaded(no attachment in the email), all messages stayed on the outbox and not sent.

I just can't figure out what to do with MS outlook.

I'm not sure you can. Most ISP's only allow 10kb (message + attachment) and will the size will increase due to the encoding that happens to transmit it. You can try zipping it up and see if you can get the size small enough, though I would limit your message just to be sure but honestly this isn't Outlooks fault its your provider and recipients provider and the linking may still be using the file somehow.
