Epub files problem
« on: November 16, 2011, 06:02 AM »
Hi everyone, I'm new here so I don't really know whether this is the right place to post this or not, but I'm posting it anyways, so here you go.
I've recently bought a kobo and I usually download epub books to it, most of them work fine but I've had this problem with some books : when there's a double 'l' like in all, fall, follow it shows a space in place of the second 'l' (like al , fal , fol ow) and it's really, really, REALLY annoying. I've tried downloading from other websites - it works sometimes - but the same problem keeps occurring. I know it's not a fault with my kobo cause one of my friends has the same problem, and she uses the Aldiko app on her phone.
Does anyone know how to solve this? If so I'd really appreciate a reply :)

I have the same problem with my nook, but only on some of the downloads. I think it has something to do with what program they used because I downloaded the same book from 2 diff sources and had it on one but not the other. So not sure if you can fix it, might just have to find another one.

The double l issue comes from converting pdf to any other format. It just really does not go well. You will also see weird line breaks among other things. This is probably why everyone who is converting savvy hates pdf, including me lol, with a passion.
