Hello from Canada
« on: July 16, 2012, 10:05 AM »
Hi everybody,

My name is Chris Almeida and I am half of a duo. I write romantic suspense and erotic romance with Cecilia Aubrey.
We began writing together as a couple in a role play group and that veered into writing short stories, two of them eventually published by a small e-press. From that it was a quick dive into writing longer and more complex stories and plots.

Thank you for welcoming us and we look forward to more discussions on this group.

Sláinte!

Chris

Err, I kinda know you from the Twific discussions thread, but I have no idea how to ask, or where to find Philo, and it would feel a bit cheeky approaching a mod when he has no idea who the hell I am.  If you hadn't guessed I am still trying to work out how to navigate this site and find topics I am interested in.  I just stumbled on this.  Thanks again. x

Philo's cool you'll like him. Anytime you want a mod you can either go to the help button above, click on staff list & find the one you want (or who's online) or if you remember their name you can type it into the to field (messages) and it will pull it up that way. Plus Philo likes to chat in the shout box.

She's on Goodreads here:  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login   Her newest Flash Fiction is on her blog and she has two others in the post before that in the preceeding posts. This one is called Stories of my Grandmothers.     I've been trying to convince her to come here to the author's thread but no luck so far.

Do you mods have radar built in so you know when your name is mentioned?  Very nice pic, by the way!  Thanks for the links, will check them out.  Hope I'm not in trouble for putting this an an author thread.  Cheers, H. x

Lol not exactly, more like anything to do with his sister and he shows up. And Chris is a nut, he'll understand completely. You should follow him on Goodreads (I lurk there sometimes). He understands a hijack pretty well IMO. He and his writing partner are like Philo and myself in a lot of ways lol.

OK, looks like I'm heading to Goodreads next, yet another new site to learn, hope it's fairly straightforward.  Thanks again Dry. x

You couldn't get me to do it now! I'm too intimidated by your sister's talent.

If she wasn't any good I would have told her "That's nice dear" and not told her she was good.   Sis's stuff is like candy once I start to read, I can't put it down.

I had a friend who showed me a story she wrote.  It was horrible.  I told her she had a nice little hobby and that I really loved her photos [which were fantastic.]  I was really disappointed when Gerri became a Wedding Photographer.  She was so much better than that stuff.  Her story tho.. shudder...  Incest and double suicide as an ending with the old dramatic walk into the sea to join her lover/brother.  Geri was as bad at writing as she was good at photos.   Those pictures just had a quality that fascinated you to look at them.  Now if she could have written a story like she took a picture [and those pictures made you want to know the story behind the picture]

Oh my god! I didn't expect to ever say this to you two but do you two mind quit hijacking (for newcomers: diverting attention from the main issue of topic) this thread?
Have you checked this out yet?

Aqua, Have you met Chris? He's a major hijacker on GR.  :D :D His personality is one of the reasons I love their books and have read every one. Plus what Philo said is true.
