Hello from Canada
« on: July 16, 2012, 10:05 AM »
Hi everybody,

My name is Chris Almeida and I am half of a duo. I write romantic suspense and erotic romance with Cecilia Aubrey.
We began writing together as a couple in a role play group and that veered into writing short stories, two of them eventually published by a small e-press. From that it was a quick dive into writing longer and more complex stories and plots.

Thank you for welcoming us and we look forward to more discussions on this group.

Sláinte!

Chris

Will do :) Not sure where to start, though. Should I begin with the first book of the series?

LOL! I told you I would :) Just trying to find time to be around more. Cecilia should be popping by when she's back to her normal schedule. She's currently away on a business trip.
So, I am left to my own devices which can be scary...
If you have ANY questions, just shoot them my way. I am happy to answer them as long as they are not big spoilers.

It depends on you. Though starting with the first book will definitely help readers to know where to start (as sometimes, the sites/stores get the chronology wrong accidentally.)
You can also, if you want, call out for Beta Testers/Reviewers or post some of your own reviews in Author/Books review board about books you read.

Welcome from a fellow Canadian.  I'm off to check the link you gave to find out about your stories.  Wishing you great success as a writer.
Please excuse any spelling errors.   I have dyslexic fingers!

Huh, I wanted to try this as well, but it's still full price in UK.  Bummer, not fair.

I would have thought being part of the Empire it wouldn't be. I really don't understand geo restrictions and the pricing that go along with it.

I loved that the books never really did go the way you'd assume it would go. It takes a lot to make me go "gasp, damm, didn't see that coming" lol, but it happened a lot in these books!

I interpret this to mean they are worth the money and I should just go for it.  Still not fair, big difference in price, sulks.  Got my Nook to give me a free sample, if it's as good as you say, this should give me an idea.  If I like it I will buy it.   :undecided:

I think it has more to do with the publisher/distributor and taxing then anything with the Author. I doubt they get any more than usual for the books that are sold in different geo's.

They get the same amount.  My sister gets 20 cents on her digital book no matter where it sells.

You should hit up Philo (mod) for his sisters stuff. She wrote a book, can't remember the name or hers sorry, plus she's been posting flash fiction. Her stuff never seems to go the way you'd expect either! And she starts you out totally thinking she will than bam! I just love it when an author engages my brain like that.

Err, I kinda know you from the Twific discussions thread, but I have no idea how to ask, or where to find Philo, and it would feel a bit cheeky approaching a mod when he has no idea who the hell I am.  If you hadn't guessed I am still trying to work out how to navigate this site and find topics I am interested in.  I just stumbled on this.  Thanks again. x
