Bared to you by Sylvia Day
« on: April 28, 2012, 07:52 AM »
Name of the book:Bared to you.

Genre:Adult, romance

Book publish year :April 2012.

Rating (out of 5):5

Brief intro:From Amazon
Our journey began in fire...

Gideon Cross came into my life like lightning in the darkness--beautiful and brilliant, jagged and white-hot. I was drawn to him as I'd never been to anything or anyone in my life. I craved his touch like a drug, even knowing it would weaken me. I was flawed and damaged, and he opened those cracks in me so easily...

Gideon knew. He had demons of his own. And we would become the mirrors that reflected each others most private wounds... and desires.

The bonds of his love transformed me, even as I prayed that the torment of our pasts didn't tear us apart...

My review:
love this book from the beginning to the end and I honestly think this book, the writing, the hero and heroine work better together than the ones in fifty shades of grey which I could barely get through and there should be no comparisons at all. Eva was very spunky and speaks her mind, I wish that Gideon's issues are address in book 1 but it in no ways deter from the book. I did not want this book to end and now I cannot wait for bk2.

Like this book so far, into the second book of the series now but the sex part are less intense (in bk1 but bk2, it is alittle spicier), who need Christian Grey's type of lovemaking everyday? That's too intense! Only Ana can take him that much and that far :P

This story show alittle more on the psychological side, of both characters in the story been the sexual-abuse survivors, well, actually there are alot of dark past that Gideon thought hidden well and Eva thought she has face up to reality and overcome much, only to be open up, bits by bits (for both, it's through nightmares) when both of them gets together. It's make me wonder how two broken people even want to try a relationship with each other, intending to save one another, when each of them can't even break through with their own issues and on top of that, their deep insecurities, not to mention jealousy, makes alot of ugly and unnecessary scenes. Even seeing their own therapist, things certainly didn't fade away nor heal anything with time , with that kind of professional help that cost so hefty, it's practically didn't do any magic nor miracle at all, it just helps only alittle but mostly, it just seem to be sweeping problems under the carpet. They bring out the best in one another but also the worst when things get rough.

It helps more, if Gideon were to be more foreright with his problem instead of keep holding back and demanding on Eva to give more than she should have. Alot of times, Eva could have just walk away from it all but she is quite brave to give herself that strength and courage to keep on trying - because of love. I wouldn't be that determined if i were her.  :-X

Still, this series so far has somewhat captivated me more, that i find myself wanting to keep reading. FSOG is alittle too much to take - most of the times. Not only the sexual part (what's up with the classical music, lol) but the most is the reason being given why Grey love brunettes and Cross too (although no reason has been given yet), guess probably would start a trend on brunettes been the "hot" stuff for BDSM in authors' or a person's fantasy and imagination ;D  I hope it's not a ' mother problem linked to a sexual stuff ' again for Cross. I had enough from Grey, he make me sick in that sense.

Overall a good read but easily forgettable. It doesn't link you to anything except sexual abuse which you don't usually do in daily life. But for FSOG, how can we forget? With so much classical and even pop music reference, it's also not surprising why your brain automatically link you back to shades of grey stuff , with alot of other authors coming out with from 1 to 100 shades of whatever grey, yellow, red, whichever color took their fancy in them, it's gonna take sometime for this kind of trend to die out or it may never? :o Time will tell.
