Review:
I've been a fan of Simone elkeles since I first read Perfect Chemistry. I loved Rules of Attraction though not as much as Perfect Chemistry. I had HUGE expectations for Chain Reaction, but it was a disappointment for me. I guess the higher you are, harder the fall. I pushed all my books in que to make room for this one, but I now wish I didn't read this one at all.
I didn't like Luis or Nikki one bit. I was waiting for the book to end so I could move on. Nikki is one hard MC to like. She sounds bitter, cynical and condescending all the time. She doesn't seem to like anybody except her best friend. One redeeming quality she got is her sympathy for orphan dogs.
Luis is too soft to be anywhere near being "Bad Boy".
Story felt like a drag. Remember how Kiera and Brittany have a playful / naughty side? Nikki doesn't have it. There is no playful flirtation building up to that sexual tension. That essence of Perfect Chemistry is missing in this book and was a big let down for me.

Apparently the more violent your reaction to a guy, the more you like that guy. If only I knew I'd be going around kicking guys instead of being nice :)
Nikki knees Luis where it counts when she meets him. Junior (Nikki and Luis son in epilogue) gets punched in face by another girl and they think it's the beginning of a beautiful love story.
So now you all know how to get a guy to lurve you *smirk*
To end on a good note, I feel that I should tell you that there are also a few funny or sweet moments, and also there are some hot scenes between the main characters (but I was too annoyed to enjoy them) - so I don't know, just read the book if you want to, and judge it by yourself. Maybe you will love it.
PS: By the way, don't get me wrong: one star is for the nice cover, only one star for the story. :( I didn't like it.

Ok, I have only read Perfect Chemistry so how do the sequels work? Are they about Alex's brothers or his son? I don't know if I should read the next to or not, while I enjoyed Perfect Chemistry I wouldn't say it was anything special so I was wondering how the story was continued.....

Perfect Chemistry series has 3 books - each about one Feutas brother:
Perfect Chemistry (about Alex and Brittany)
Rules Of Attraction (about Alex's brother Carlos and Kiera)
Chain Reaction (about 3rd and last brother Luis and Nikki)

Honestly, I didn't like Rules of attraction nearly as much as Perfect chemistry and Chain reaction is worst than Rules of attraction. So if you were not that impressed with Perfect Chemistry (first book), you might want to stay away from the other two. Alex is the best of the three, probably because it was fresh compared to much repeated versions in the other two books.

3.5 stars for me. It wasn't as bad as Rules of Attraction but nowhere near as good as Perfect Chemistry mainly because it's the same storyline over and over again.

The story starts when Luis and Nikki are 15 but the actual story is when they’re 17. I was relieved. I don’t like to see 15 year old kids making out no matter how, “hot” they are. Once again, the book is full of stereotypes. Luis acts like “white people” don’t waiter or waitress. What a load of crap. It’s interesting to see dear mamacita finding love. I loved how everyone reacted to her boyfriend. There’s a lot more family interaction in this book and it’s good fun. I loved watching Carlos with Kiara and Alex with Brittany. Seeing the brothers all in one book is nice so I can make the comparisons and the differences. Carlos is definitely more arrogant and determined to embarrass everyone and Alex is more steady (he’s a father now!) and serious. At the same time it was annoying. I felt that Alex and Carlos should’ve recognized the signs of a brother in the Blood.

I wasn’t expecting much from Chain Reaction. I didn’t like Rules of Attraction and from what I read, I figured Luis would be all smokin’ hot and cool and disrespectful to Alex. And I love Alex and don’t like seeing him dissed. Luis is described as a good boy. Well, he isn’t. He’s just like Carlos with one exception. Luis is smart, studies hard, and doesn't like kicking butt. And he calls himself a Fuentes? Still, I was pleased that he did have defining differences from his brothers. I liked the way he interacted with Nikki. He was plenty arrogant but he when it counted he respected her and treated her right. But it’s annoying to see Luis lying to her and his family in order to, “keep them safe". Luis and Nikki are like Alex and Brittany all over again. At the same time, Luis is only doing it because of his brothers’ sterling examples.

Nikki is a lot more sharper than the other Fuentes’ girlfriends. For starters, she got hurt by her ex and wants absolutely nothing to do with boys, full stop. She is totally anti-love, anti-dating, anti-boys, and she doesn’t hesitate to share her feelings. Nikki’s a beautiful Mexican, but she lives on the rich, “white”, northside, like Brittany did. She’s pretty hard core and doesn't trust easy. Nikki doesn’t speak a word of Spanish and I found this especially hilarious before Luis figures it out.

Yup..Chain reaction was not nearly as good as the first two. Of course, perfect chemistry was a great read although i love rules attraction more. Carlos is the misunderstood bad boy rebel and the dialogues were just way hilarious  ;D
