A very intriguing take on the Peter Pan "mythos". Children are stolen from their home/families at a young age by a group of (lost boys/girls?) who live hidden in the forest on the fringes of civilization from which they occasionally scavenge. Through a process/ceremony their physiology is changed so that they don't age, their bodies become more malleable allowing them to squeeze into small spaces, and they become harder to "see" (not invisible but just less "noticable"). The group size remains fairly stable and new children are stolen when one occasionally dies or sometimes decides/is-the-join-chat-button-a-part-of-stp able to rejoin the world - their memories of their time with the "tribe" fading and being harder to recall/believe after they do. Hard to explain so you've got to read it to see :-) A good recommended interesting read!
