Hey I just want to say thank you, I've been longing for not so boring books myself, am 19 years old and I'm a big Percy Jackson fan! Proudly so! I've read the all so famous harry potter series and of course the twilight series. I like books such as the black dagger brotherhood series, the kane chronichles series, the heroes of olympus, mercy thompson series, night huntress series also....... They are different but pretty great, guess I am a series fanatic. Anyways here are a list of my To Read books, don't know if they'll interest u too:

Elemental Assasin Series by Jennifer Estep
Dresden Files Series by Jim Butcher
Secrets of the Immortal Nicholad Flammel Series by Michael Scott
His Dark Materials Series by Phillip Pullman
The Hunger Games Series by Suzanne Collins
Millenium Series by Stieg Larsson

O I think the Host is a great book, its original and not boring at all, u should give it a chance. Its by Stephenie Meyer and its completely different to twilight. Happy reading, I'll try out the books u suggested. Thanks!!!!
Literature is my Utopia. Here I am not
disenfranchised. No barrier of the
senses shuts me out from the sweet,
gracious discourse of my book friends.
They talk to me without
embarrassment or awkwardness.

Hey! Thanks for replying. Good to know you found my post interesting  :)

I'm a series fanatic too! I'm one of those people who, after finding a good first book in a series, will wander around the house, depressed, until I get the next book.
I've read the Elemental Assassin series. I thought they were quite good! Although I found that the books went a bit too quickly at the beginning, I also thought that it was an interesting change from the conventional evil-vampire storyline.
I've also read the Hunger Games series. At first, I thought the first book was an alright read. But then I felt that the next two books ruined it a bit and that the author was more interested in the money she would get out of it rather than actually making the stories worthwhile. Now I just dislike the whole series altogether as the main character annoyed me and the romance was boring. I actually feel the same way about the Twilight series and the House of Night series. I'll be posting a review about the latter soon as I really loved it at first but upon reading the series again, I hated them!

I must say, I did read The Host by Stephanie Meyer, and found that I really couldn't get into it. I wound up confused and couldn't finish it. However, it was a few years ago that I read it so I might give it another chance and try again soon.

Thanks again for the reply! I'll have a look at some of things you suggested on your TR list ^-^

I really loved Birthmarked from Caragh O'brien. I don't know a lot off people who read it but I think it's great.
Starters - Lissa Price, shocked me. I didn't expect it to be that good.
Matched - Ally Condie
Trylle series -  Amanda Hocking
Mortal instruments - Cassandra Clare
Game of thrones - George Martin
Fire - Kristin Ashore
Iron Fey series - Julie Kagawa
Girl, stolen - April Henry is really great, because you read in the point of view of someone who's blind (makes you think about how lucky we are to be ably to see)
And of course I read all the Percy Jackson, hush hush and the hunger games :)
And I loved the Host, so much better than twilight

I've heard of the Percy Jackson series, but for some reason have never picked up the books. I don't know why, I also see them at my bookshop but don't go for them, though I really want to read them, I've heard good things!
