Name of the book: Dragon's Lair (Wind Dragons MC, #1)
Author: Chantal Fernando
Genre: Action - MC's
Rating (out of 5):5 :star:
Your review:
This is the first book I read by Chantal Fernando. I bought it because I thought it's a paranormal shifter MC book, I am so glad I bought it anyway. I loved it from the prologue to the end... This author kept me captivated the whole way through. This book has it all, the hotness, the danger of an MC family, and well there is drama, heartbreak ugh moments of happiness and sadness, anger the whole range of emotions... In this one book. Did I mention the hot tattooed ripped biker guys, who are womanizer and yes there is occasional naked people walking around.... But it's an awesome book and it is very well written.
We meet Faye and Dex/Sin. Friends and neighbors since they were young. Dex always looked out for Faye and Faye always had a secret crush on Dex. One day Dex left and Faye had to go on.... Eventually she dates Eric, Dex's brother and well she plans a whole live out where they end up together. But things happened.
A surprise appearance of Dex ends up in a one night stand and that ends up into a life that Faye never saw herself in.
What I can tell you is that you need to read this book and just get taken away into the Wind Dragons MC world. Each of these characters will make an impact on you. Trust me you will be on this journey and you won't regret it. Next one will be....
“You clearly don’t know who you’re talking to, so let me clue you in. I am not in danger, Skyler. I am the danger. A guy opens his door and gets shot, and you think that of me? No! I am the one who knocks!” – Walter White ”

I started reading Highlanders by Karen Marie Moning and I have to say the 1st 2 books are really disappointing  :P I can't believe these books are written by the same woman who gave us Fever hoping it will get better as I read more.

Your comment reminds me that I still have to read the last book of the fever series that was released this year..
The last one was Iced , and I read it back in 2012 when it first released , so I still weirdly remember everything  ???

Been through a DNF stage lately , and I have a lot of books I'm dying to read but I'm not in the mood for  :'( :'( :'(

Brandon Sanderson Mistborn, Book one and part of book 2
« Reply #246 on: July 22, 2016, 09:49 AM »
I loved Mistborn from the beginning, the entire discription of the red sun and the obligators and the like already had me excited because I knew it would be a great world to get into. My grievance however, is Kelsier. He was by far the most likable character. And his point of view paired with Vin's point of view just made the book that more exciting to read! And the dynamics with the rest of the crew was so easy to like and get into. I didn't particularly like Vin in the beginning because she seemed weak and accepting of her situation. But I guess that's how it is with a good book because she grew tremendously! I enjoyed the book write up until the end because for how great the rest of the book was the ending just seemed weak and anticlimactic, and of course Kelsier's death was truly Heart breaking. Despite that though, I truly enjoyed the book and was excited for the next one.

Its so hard to read Well of Assencion and not be bitter because compared to Kelsier, Elend is so annoying. Especially his romance with Vin. It seems its all he talks about and not to mention he is king! I find that so silly! Uh! I really don't see his transcendence or development from the first book until now. Vin, yes!  I'm at chapter 6 and really hoping it gets better. It just seems like book 1 was perhaps written for a more matured age group compared to book 2. I really hope this book will soothe my loss of Kelsier because I was really excited to read it.  ....

I don't forgive Kelsier's Death. I loved him, I wanted to see him grow!

Outlander - Diana Gabaldon
« Reply #247 on: October 26, 2016, 10:38 AM »
I started listening to  the audio books because of the TV Series. I watched part of the first episode and honestly I don't know what possessed me to go to books because that part in a broken down mill with the husband going down on the wife really wasn't encouraging, that's as far as I got. Sure I can read that stuff and even enjoy it but watching that on TV seems unnecessarily graphic. What about the days when you would see a pair kissing or clothes flying before the go under the sheets and the scene closes out? Anyway I wanted to read romance, well listen to it, and I have to say I enjoyed it up until the part where Claire abondonned Jamie in the prison with Randall. That isn't to say that there weren't other scenes where I was close to stopping, for example, the lashing, that part with Jenny describing being pregnant and rubbing her breast and stomach with Jamie and Claire there along with her husband Ian, that was really really weird. And all the almost rapeS. It makes me wonder if there really isn't any other predicaments  to write about, but anyway there would always be some rescue. But why wasn't there a rescue for Jamie when there always was for Claire? I kept waiting for Claire to turn back or at least attack while Randall was distracted and making the deal with Jamie, something! But no, she left and encountered wholly new problems with wolves and whatever. And the way the author writes it makes the characters seem really uncaring. And I hate the helplessness! But that's a different topic. Anyway I know that accepting homosexuality is written all the time and such but that really doesn't ever make rape OK, regardless of gender and sexual preference, and I'm really outraged that more people aren't outraged about it. Yes Claire gets rescued, several times, but not Jamie! Whats the difference between them? Really don't understand how any of this could be entertainment. Should not an author be as emotionally invested in the hero as she is in the heroine? We are! Not even the romance seems real and pure, and admittedly isn't that our main reason for reading these books? Unconditional love? For me its why I've read from vampires to BDSM to Harlequin and even historical romance. To read romance, whatever cheap versions. Certainly, there are flaws, but this really pushes the bounds. And it seems to be that authors take advantage for the sake of thier egos and just having their stories  go on! Rant over. Just outraged.

This whole sentence was full of sarcasm. I agree on the fact that she's way overrated, and I don't watch the tv show  :sign0135:

The Falconer - Elizabeth May
« Reply #249 on: November 03, 2016, 01:39 PM »
After days trying to find my next fae series  fix I came across The Falconer, first book in a fae trilogy. Posting my review less that 24 hours later. This stories happens in a modernised 1844 Scotland and is really easy to get into. First time in a long time I not only enjoyed the book but also really liked the heroine. Slow  romance and a heart breaking end. Only draw back though are the curse words, wow. But if you can get passed that then its a really enjoyable read.

I am currently reading this book and so far I am loving it.  It is so relatable to how current day working mothers feel.  I love reading all of her books.  If you’re a mother serving in the military with a civilian spouse, this will totally hit home for you.

I started reading this book with no idea that it was dystopian. And I'm not a big a fan of dystopian. They're depressing and violent in my thoughts, but this wasn't so bad. Saying that it did not make me start liking dystopian. I still dislike it.

This book had a bit of a slow start to my liking. There were many times I just wanted to shut the book during the first few chapters (also partly because I realized it was dystopian), but it picked up once the story shifted to the palace. I actually started really liking it from then. Maxon was a dreamboat. His character and just his down to earth personality really bought me over.

I also really like the little history lesson in this book, but it creeped me out a tad bit given the current world situation and I started thinking about all the conspiracies theories a bit too much.

America annoyed me time to time, but DOES NOT BEAT Aspen. Grrr. I could strangle that guy. And his appearance towards the end of the book just ruined everything. He should have just stayed where he was supposed to. What is with dystopian and love triangles? I'm glad America's eyes creaked open a bit towards the end.

I have no intention of reading the rest of this series. I was quite confused reading this and thinking "Why would this need to be a series. Can't it just end with one?" I thought the whole competition would end with this book, but lo and behold it didn't. I was a bit annoyed that it didn't, but again I have no intention of reading the rest of the series.

I'll recommend this book to those who want a light dystopian read. Or to someone who wants to have a taste of it.
