Deciding on Next Book
« on: April 11, 2015, 03:51 AM »
I am an avid reader, at least 2 to 3 books a week depending on length, mainly MM books.  The more I read the harder it is to decide what to read next.  Curious how others choice what books they read.  Do you pick by genre or just random?  I am looking for a way to decide on my next books which will give a variety.  Right now I use my Calibre and the "random book" button.

I don't choose at ramdon. But it depends if I have time to read it in one go (no matter if it's a short story or a long book) or if I'm going to read it in different sessions. And also what genre I'm in the mood for. One way or another, I try to get information about the stories before deciding about the books.

I don't choose at ramdon either. It will depend on the genre I'm in the mood for. But well, my problem is that my "next to read list" just gets bigger and bigger and I don't know how to find my way out from there ...   . Another way for me to choose lately is using the "listopia" from Goodreads. I'm really a big fan of Goodreads. Best place to find something to read next.

I tend to download anything that looks good and then rank them immediately.  Some just sound so good they go in the read first folder and then I have 2 folders under that I keep active.  The rest go into a kinda slush pile i will pull from just for a surprise.  My read first always has a good choice and I go there first.
