Erotica (BDSM) authors to read next?
« on: October 01, 2013, 01:15 PM »
I'm fairly new to the erotica genre and am trying to figure out what to read next. I prefer books with a D/s focus and have already dipped my toe into Chloe Cox (loved the Club Volare series!), E.L. James (not really a BDSM book, but a pretty decent read), Cherise Sinclair (liked the first few of Shadowlands, but got light on plot), Emily Cantore, Ava Claire (liked His Submissive series, but didn't think it was a BDSM series), Opal Carew (really liked her books, but got too menage+ at some point), and Cheyenne McCray/Jaymie Holland (liked all the books I read). Also, I'm also pretty adamant about not starting any incomplete series. I prefer a monogamous MF romance, but it's not a necessity.

I think I'm trying to decide between the books of Sierra Cartwright, R.K. Lilley, Tiffany Reisz, Jodi Ellen Malpas, Red Phoenix and J. Kenner. Any recs on those?

I've also heard good things about the following authors, but thought maybe I'd try the ones above first (unless someone shouts a must read!): Olivia Cunning, Lauren Dane, Joey W. Hill, Maya Banks, Shayla Black, and Karen Marie Moning.

Not sure if anyone is reading this, but I enjoyed Sierra Cartwright's Bared to Him and also her Masters series (I really enjoyed books 3 & 4). But I really enjoyed Red Phoenix's Brie 01-09 - Brie Learns the Art of Submission: Submissive Training Center. It was fun following along Brie's BDSM introduction and how she felt about it. I liked it so much I immediately started the sequel series (Brie After Graduation) and am on part 3 now. So far it's focusing more on Brie and her new D/s relationship.

Tiffany Reisz The Original Sinners series is one of my FAVORITES

I am with you and love a good Dom and prefer a monogamous MF but you have a lot of everything in her books and with out giving anything away you also have Dommies in her books too but love how she does it. Plus she does throw in some M/M but she does it perfectly IMO

Also one book I rec all the time for anyone that loves BDSM is The Reluctant Dom by Tymber Dalton

Make sure your are ready for an emotional ride. Total 5 star book. You think its going to be a lot of M/F/M in it and its not and once you read it you will love it. Promise. I think this one is part of a series but I haven't read the other books in it and they are not needed for this book and I am a series junkie so I would tell you the truth :P

Let see....
I love also  Kallypso Masters Rescue Me series

Its not finished but you don't need it to be. I hate when series just leave you hanging there and this one doesn't
Great books

R.K. Lilley Up In The Air series is good to I read those not to long ago

Hi,

There are so many sub-genres of erotica - that's what makes it a great genre. So far the only sub-genre that I don't fully appreciate (i.e. don't like) is dark BDSM. One easy way to check other authors is to check the number and ratings of book reviews. Goodreads, Amazon and Allromance and good sites to try.

Good hunting!
