Books you wish you could unread

Is there any book you wish you could unread?

First one I came to my mind was The Grass Harp by Truman Capote  :'(
But it´s a classic. Maybe I should give it a chance again  ^-^

What got me started on this was thinking about the few times I walked out of a movie theatre because I could not bear to watch a movie to its conclusion, which led me to think about books I could not finish.

One of those was the tentacle thingie someone posted here for jokes. I wish I could unread it because it was awful awful awful. The kind of awful train wreck that you cannot stop reading but do not really wish to go on, you just wish a disembodied hand would turn off your e-reader and pat you gently, "Now, now, honey, no more of that nastie thing...".

Anything by Thomas Hardy..... I was forced to read him at school and I never want to be that depressed again.  You know you are doomed if you are either in a Thomas hardy book or a Puccini Opera.

I got over the Hardy books by reading "Cold Comfort Farm"

Beautifull, but it is terrible! Blindness by José Saramago.
Humans at their worst but so believable...
I think that's the worst about it, we totally believe that if that happens people will do everything he wrote, if not more..:

I made the mistake of buying an English version of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's The Autumn of the Patriarch (1975). I got to the third page before trashing it.

Unfortunately it made me biased, and I never attempted the original one to this day.

I guess I am not yet to the point where I will be motherteresified.

Oh, another one: Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (Philip K. Dick). I think I had higher expectations becasuse I saw the movie first, and liked it, and the book is more a basis for it, and not what I expect it to be.

One of my fav movies of all times. I own the director´s cut, the boxed special you name it.
The book could not possibly live up to my expectations, so I enjoyed it for what it was.
The sequel however is another story...literally. it starts so interestingly... and flops.

Oh and any Tina Folsom book, please entity above, let me forget her name as she is a disgrace to anyone who wants to call themselves authors.

Any books by Shakespeare.   Hated those in school and never understood the teachers passion for this writer.
Please excuse any spelling errors.   I have dyslexic fingers!

Usually the classics, with the exception of The Bronte Sisters and Jane Austen.
They are books better watched in movies instead of reading 30+ pages talking about the meadows...
