Help Find this book? Does anyone know?
Hello,

I have read this book as a teen, some 15 years ago, and for the love of God, can't remember the name of the book or the names of the characters. It's always stayed in my memory as that was my first romantic novel and something I want to read just to relive those days. I would hide under the table to read such books, as the covers were scandalizing and of the fear of being caught reading them.

I am not sure of the entire plot, but  I recall is this passionate lovemaking scene penned by the author, about the actress tying the hero to the bed, and entering his chambers to give him a wash, and how; he has already undone the ropes tied, but does not disclose this. The actress, thinks that as he is tied, and to teach him, a lesson starts making love with him, but what starts as a plan to teach him a lesson ends up being a total ravishment  of the heroine. If I am not mistaken this was either to do with being kidnapped and asked to work on the ship by the hero to earn her passageway, or it was to do with taking revenge.

It's been years now, and I have tried searching it through different web search but unfortunately, am unable to trace or get the name of the book, and I am really keen on reading it once again.

I would really appreciate, if anyone could help with the title of this book.

Thank you.

{edit} Book title is: Captive of My Desire by Johanna Lindsey

Hey Liexo,

Thanks for your prompt response. Just that I am desperate, and its irks me that I can't recall the names of the characters nor the title of the book. As its the first ever romance novel i read, I am anxious to lay my hands of it. But, I also know i am shooting in the air :)

You never know. You might be lucky.  8) 8)
I'm new around here but I have noticed that the members new lots of things about authors and books, it's actually quite amazing.
As for myself, I had a few books that I could have shared, but my computer broke down two months ago and everything's got lost.  :'(    It's not as frustrating as looking for a book you don't recall a lot about, but it's still very annoying. >:(
Good luck with that book of yours.  ;)

It's really awesome to know, how people here know so much about books, authors. I had posted this query on another thread, and someone replied. The book name is captive of my desire by Johanna Lindsey.  I am so looking forward to reading it again.

What kind of books do you prefer reading? I have a library of pdfs and if you send me the name of author or books you are looking for, I am happy to share, If I have those in my library.

Told you, they're just great !

I read everything that comes near me, except biographies, sports and politics.
Right now I' looking for C.E.Murphy's Walker Papers #6. I found the other ones, but didn't come across that one yet.
I Have some of Johanna Lindsey's books at home, but the paper ones. I liked her series about the Malory Family. I thought it was great so I got some more books from her here.
I don't really know the authors, usually when I buy a book, i just read the summary plot...   ::)

I checked and realized that I have the book you were talking about, but I don't recall this scene. Oooops. Yeah, that's a good book.

Help! I cant figure out the title of this book
« Reply #7 on: October 29, 2012, 10:07 PM »
Okay I really need help finding this book. I had it but my family had a house fire sooo my mom pretty much ransacked my room

I think its a Harlequin Romance book

The book: I can not think of the heroins name but I can tell u about the book. its about this woman she works overseas. I think her and her friend samuel get kidnapped and she is beaten and Samuel dies. The hero saves her but like right when he saves her she is about to get raped and one of her captors speak Farsi (which the heroin is fluent in)  and says  "I will know this fire" because the heroin has red hair and a lot of the men like her hair. The hero saves the heroin and there plane is shot down by the captors and they make a crash landing in Greece. They pretend the are married and the hero bandages her wounds for her because she has bruises and cuts and scraps from being tortured. The heroin doesnt know that her dad was behind her rescue which the hero doesnt divulge. He helps her bath and eat. They have sex because she needs to feel alive again and the share a kiss in the airport and then she sees that she is plastered on the newspaper. The kiss between her and the hero they see half of his face and all of hers and the heroin mothers ask her if she is pregnant in one part but she isnt she just threw up because she finally figured out why they wanted her and samuel dead..the heroin and the hero end up together in the end I think it was published like 2005-2010 somewhere around there.

I wonder if it's The Secret Soldier by Jennifer Morey?

I Googled "harlequin, sam, farsi" and it was the first thing that came up (an excerpt from the book)

Here's the Goodreads summary:
"The powerful stranger broke down the door and saved Sabine O'Clery from the terrorists holding her hostage. But her secretive hero was forbidden from revealing his identity. Until enemy fire forced them to crash-land....

Of all the covert military missions, being stranded on a Greek island with a beautiful woman is one that Cullen McQueen never imagined. But their stay in paradise was all too fleeting. He had to take Sabine back to America, or risk blowing his cover and losing everything he'd fought for. Yet memories of one passion-filled night haunted him...and when danger followed Sabine home, the stealth soldier knew he would break all the rules to keep her safe forever."

Hi. I hope somebody could help me on this one. I have read a novel back in the day and its really good but unfortunately I could only remember the some of the plot and not the title. The book's plot (or the bits I remembered anyway) is as follows:

The story is set in a small town. h is a doll-maker while H is a city lawyer who recently moved in into town. H is widowed with a small daughter named Jenny. Jenny stopped talking at all due to the trams caused by the accident. (I think the mom and Jenny were involved in a car accident. Mom died but Jenny though alive was traumatized by the experience. h reads for children at the library once a week. It's the scene at the beginning of the book. I think h is offered to sell her dolls by a retail chain at one point in the story and H helped him through the negotiation of the contract. H knows carpentry and helped h renovate her house. Towards the end of the story Jenny finally able to speak up again (yay!)

Other bits and pieces: h is big breasted but is very self conscious about. She likes to wear Victorian style dresses. That and the fact that she's a dollmaker earned her a nickname across town. Can't remember the nickname though. This is an early 90s book.

EDIT: Found the title of this book. Storybook Hero by Maris Soule

I'm looking for a book i read probably 10 years ago at the library (and it wasn't new then, i don't think.) I don't know what the cover looked like because it was a hardcover without a dust jacket. It is either an adult or young adult book. What I remember:

Genre: sci-fi

It's set in some far-off universe (way in the future?) where any paranormal skills are illegal. The main protagonist is a young man who works for the government(?) and gets sent to some distant planet to hunt down a dangerous person (i think the book calls these kinds of people "a beyond" but i could be wrong about that; someone who has very strong esp abilities (telepathy, clairvoyant, etc.) When the main character gets there, its a desolate kind of place and he's told the boy died, and only his best friend, sister and dog are left. There is something about empty graves and people escaping off-planet, the main character finds out he has telepathic skills, too. There is some reference to his mother having been clairvoyant when his father was killed while away and she knew way before they found out. Also remember a scene where he's looking for information about his abilities (early in the book) in a library and it's a trap he almost gets caught. There is something about the kid being able to change bodies (the best friend is actually the boy he was sent to investigate in his friend's body?), and someone else trying to kill them near the end of the book. There might also have been something about a dying alien race helping them secretly.

I've google and searched and can't come up with this book. Anyone know the title/author? Thanks!

Ok, I'm wondering who the author and title and maybe the serie name is of this book.
I read it a while ago. It is part of a serie. I didn't read the first part and i know there were more after it. But I loved the second book, but couldn't find the first one in the serie, so I deleted it. And now I'm regretting it, because now I have more resources to find it.
In the second book she is the sister (i think) of the first books heroine. It has something to do with a prophecy. She is really stubborn and curious. I think that they found out in the first book that werewolves exist. And now in the second book she is trying to proof that vampires also exist. The alpha of the werewolves isn't really happy with this, because she doesn't listen to him and gets herself in all kinds of trouble. I believe that the book starts with her on the graveyard trying to proof that the vampires exist and he is there to save her, or something. I believe that he asks a friend, a vampire, to scare her, so she won't go hunting for vampires anymore. The friend does this, but finds out that she is his mate. After something happens the alpha also realise that she is his mate. In the end they form a triad, a trio, menage relationship.  They encounter some problems with people that try to hurt them, i think.. I really remember the romance part, but the rest is a bit foggy.
It is a menage romance book. With the two guys that don't touch each other, i believe. It is all about the girl. Anyone an idea?

Are the two guys brothers or half brothers?
Wrath to Butch: That's you. You shall be called the Black Dagger warrior Dhestroyer....
Rhage: But you'll always be Butch to us, as well as hard-ass. Smart-ass. Royal pain in the ass... I think as long as there's an ASS in there, it'll be accurate.
Zhadist: How about bASStard?

^LOL :P

It isn't siren, I think. But i'm not sure. I have no idea anymore. That is what makes it difficult :(

They weren't brothers. They were friends. I know that for sure.

I need help remembering two book titles.

The first one: h lives in a small town, she has a gift shop. She was supposed to get married a few years back but her groom jilted her. H is the groom's cousin. h believes H convinced groom to jilt her. H returns to town and buys the building in which h has her shop and her apartment. H wants to reopen his brother's lawn business. H and h talk, become friendly. h confesses she was pregnant and that's why they were going to marry. Her ex-boyfriend returns to town to get married there. h has a best friend who makes jewelry.
Found it. It's Real Men Don't Break Hearts by Coleen Kwan

The second one: I am pretty sure it was published by Ellora's Cave. h is some kind of scientist or researcher. She overhears H and a friend talking about her lack of sex appeal. She decides to take the pills she is making (which were to increase your desires). And that's all I remember. I think it might be one of those menage stories. I am pretty sure h had a crush on H, but slept with both men. The men were scientists as well.
Found it. It's Vitamin P by Nichelle Gregory
Thanks!

Could it be Taming Natasha by Nora Roberts?? It's the only one I remember that has an h who is a doll-maker.

Ok, can't remember much about this book. It's about two years ago i read it. I'm not sure about the category, but it's romance. Don't ask me names, because I suck at those. She is a nurse and cares for her brother. He is with the mob, or something that looks like it. I believe it is in New York. She meets him on her job. He takes a liking to her and starts courting her. Her brother gets into trouble and he helps him getting out of it, i believe. And here it starts getting fussy, i believe there are some problems between them and that's why they break up. And she has an old boyfriend that makes trouble for her. But in the end they still end up together. Anyone has an idea which book this is?

I think it's
