I was told - No, you can't download directly to the Fire. You may be able to transfer files to your Fire from your computer though.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for answering, but no it didn't help, totally computer illiterate here. Don't know what you are talking about, what's a fire? :)

Sorry. Here is a good tutorial on Amazon. Follow the instructions about Transferring Files Via USB.

Thanks will give it a go, but will probably have to get one of my kids to sort it out for me. Not very good with this sort of thing.

Remember the Kindle takes .mobi files so go after those.  otherwise you will have to download a program like Calibre to convert the files.
Please excuse any spelling errors.   I have dyslexic fingers!

1) Moving this because it does not belong here.
2) There is a way to download epub's to Fire and a reader you will have to download as well. I can't remember the name but I had to do this for my bff's Fire. Also you will have to download to a folder in Fire then add to the reader. That is covered in your manual which you can access online (thankfully! Phew. It was be a pain to go back and forth otherwise  :D :D). Oh! Found a link that explains it here:

3) Once you get used to doing it you'll be fine, but try not to stress too much about it. It just takes time and repetition.

The kindle Fire is one of the newer Kindles.  It does more than the regular Kindles.  The one I own pretty much reads books only.

I agree. The Kindle Fire is really a lot of fun. We played around with my BFF's this summer on vakay learning what it could do. She didn't remember a thing however lol. You got to keep up with the skills!
