I need a new series to read
« on: November 02, 2012, 05:49 PM »
Hey y'all.

I really love reading a series of books and find I can't put them down until I get through them all.  It's such a bad habit when my eyes are bloodshot at 3am.

Anyhoo this is what I have read and enjoyed so if anyone has suggestions I am more than open....
Amanda Hocking - Tyrlle
Beth Kery - Because You Are Mine
Charlaine Harris - True Blood
EL James - Fifty Shades
Gena Showalter - Darkest Lords
Jaci Burton - Play by Play
JR Ward - Black Dagger
Julia London - Lear
Julia London - Quinn
Julie James - FBI/Attorney
Lora Leigh - Elite Ops
Lynsay Sands - Argeneau
Maggie Stiefvater - Shiver
Maya Banks - KGI
Maya Banks - Sweet
Nora Roberts - Bride Quartet
Richelle Read - Vampire Academy
Sara Fawkes - Anything He Wants
Shannon Stacey - Kowalski
Shayla Black - Wicked
Sylvain Reynard - Gabriel
Stephanie Meyer - Twilight
TIA

Try:

Richelle Mead- Georgina Kincaid/Succubus series
JD Robb- In Death series- at 40+ books, these will keep you busy a LONG time, and they are STILL good
Nora Roberts- pretty much anything BEFORE the Bride books, lol, lots of trilogies and quintets
Shelly Laurenston- Magnus Pack/Pride series. Shifters. Sexy, FUNNY
Kallypso Masters Masters at Arms series- caution- BDSM themes
Cherise Sinclair-  Shadowlands series, and I think one other seriesalso BDSM themed
Elle Aycart- More than Meets the Ink and Heavy Issues, more to come
Kristen Ashley- pretty much anything, particularly her Rock Chick series, Burg Series, Dream Man series, and Colorado series. My favorite is Sweet Dreams. mmmm Tate. these series all kind of tie in together, but you won't be lost skipping around, except for the Rock Chick series. In fact, read RC, THEN the Dream Man series, as RC people show up in DM.

More

Kim Harrison- The Hollows series
Laurell K Hamilton- Anita Blake Vampire Hunter- up to maaaaaybe Narcissus in Chains, then STOP READING!
Patricia Briggs- Mercy Thompson series and Alpha and Omega series. Read at least the first few Mercy books before starting the A&O ones, they start to bleed into each other a bit.
Ilona Andrews Kate Daniels series
Nalini Singh- Psy-Changeling series and Guild Hunters series. these are totally separate
Chloe Neill Chicagoland Vampires series
Jeanienne Frost- Night Huntress and Night Huntress World series

I agree with all of the above, I have read most of them and loved them especially Cherise Sinclair, Kallypso Masters, and Kristen Ashley (I totally agree with Sweet Dreams, I am SO in love with Tate)

You can also try:

Lorelei James - Rough Riders (14 books so far but all of them HOT and sexy and great, I keep falling in love with each one ;))
Sherrylin Kennyon - Dark Hunters
Lauren Dane - Chase Brothers
Olivia Cunning - Sinners on Tour (only 2 books out so far but the third is coming out next week)

The Dream Series by Kristen Ashley or anything by her are awesome :)

Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day (Since you liked 50 shades of grey)

The Assassin Series by Toni Aleo (Like Play by Play except its Ice Hockey)

How about the Shadows paranormal series by S.H. Kolee? Seeing Shadows was the first book. They released the second book, Chasing Shadows, last month I think. The 3rd one will be released early next year. It's good. She is the author of the bestselling new-adult book, "Love Left Behind".  :)

This is my first post btw. I love this site.  :)

The Eighty Days series by Vina Jackson is actually really good, the first is a little more on the BDSM side than the others, but the storyline had me hooked, They go in order, Yellow,Blue,Red and a newly released Amber which as of yet i havent read and i believe another one entitled Eighty Days White will be released in a few months. I also enjoyed Ninety Days of Genevieve by Lucinda Carrington and The Sylvia Day Crossfire series which was mentioned earlier in his thread.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Kresley Cole Immortal after dark series. Its my absolute favorite paranormal series and I've read most if not all the ones recommended on this thread.

You'll also enjoy
Lora Leigh - Breed series
Tiffany Snow - Kathleen Turner Series
Kiersten Fay - Shadow Quest series
Pamela Clare - I-Team series
Thea Harrison - Elder Races series - The 1st book was amazing, subsequent books middling to really good
Laini Taylor - Daughter of Smoke & Bone - only 1st book is out
G.A. Aiken - Dragon Kin Series
Larissa Ione - Demonica Series ( different from the Lords of Deliverance (apocolypse riders series noted above)
Lisa Renee Jones - Inside Out Series

not a series but a must read " On Dublin Street - by Samantha Young" originally self published it blew up so big she's now got a multi million dollar deal with a publisher.
Theres a couple other self published books that are huge right now but can't remember the titles off the top of my head.
