Reccomendations for non-erotica, take charge male leads??
« on: October 01, 2012, 04:58 AM »
Ok, so this might not even exist, buuut... ;-)

Do y'all have any reccomendations for books where the "hero" is a take charge, alpha kinda guy, BUT there isn't graphic sex in the book?? :) I was specifically looking for Christian fiction, but at this point I am widening my search. :)

Basically, I have been reading non-stop bdsm erotica for a couple of months and My Man is almost to the point of forbidding them, so I want to honor his desire before it gets that far. ;-) He doesn't care if the book is romance, both of us would be find if the main guy is forceful, stern, even threw her over his knee - it's more the graphic sex scenes that My Man is concerned by.

Any ideas??? :)

I KNOW they exist because before I ever started into this whole world I would read books where the male protagonist kept his girlfriend/fiance/wife in line and the book was like a PG movie (where the lights fade and then they wake up the next morning and you KNOW what happened, but you didn't have to read it ;-))

Fortunately it does exist!  :)  Though I am a little concerned with your man 'forbidding' books you read.  Shouldn't you be able to decide what books you want to read?
Your man is concerned about graphic sex scenes but he doesn't have a problem with a guy throwing a woman over his knee (like she's a child) - and we're not even supposed to treat children like that! ? :o
And why does a woman need to be 'kept in line'?  But those are topics for another day.

You are in luck, however, as there are many people who like to read novels where a lot is 'left up to the readers' imagination'.

I've heard of a book entitled: 'A Dash Of Spice; Erotica for Good People' - Francis W. Porretto, ed.  ©2009.  (If you don't want to completely give up on erotica, just people exchanging body fluids, slappin' body parts together, etc.) :57:  As Ms. Porretto describes in the book, it is "...People who strive to do unto others as they would have others do unto them. People who yearn to love and be loved...

Good luck and happy reading  ;)

Thanks! I will so look into those-  I replied to you in a PM, but I just wanted to be clear that My Man isn't abusive- any "controlling" he does it at my behest. ;-)

I DO appreciate the concern though and always have my ears/eyes perked up for any woman I think is not being treated rightly.
