Which book started your love for reading?
« on: July 25, 2012, 04:15 PM »
Hey guys I was on Amazon now, I was bored I started browsing for books I found J.E. Bright A song for Caitlin. I loved that book I read that book when I was a teenager it and Darkest Longings by Susan Lewis were my favorite books. It redefined reading romance books for me, made me fall in love with reading but I used to read before. I grew up with sweet valley series, love stories and sweet dreams series that's where my obsession came from, when other girls used to play I would read. I was always a geek so I was wondering which book started your love for reading?

HERE are some covers of some books I used to read memories you cant beat that

I used to hate reading until my aunt got me Nancy Drew books. The first book I read was "The Secret of the Old Clock" and I was hooked on reading from there  :)

I had trouble learning to read .. it was in the first grade . The second part of the year I got over it and it was then I read everything
I could get my hands on. I would go to the library and go thru sections and take out about 15 books at a time. I was so young but
the librarian gave special permission for me to check out so many.

I'm such a weird case... I just can't remember one day that I read nothing since I was like 6 years old...
My dad allways told me bedtime stories, some of them from books, others from his own imagination. We kept this habit until my teens, believe it or not and I'm not ashamed of it. We just stopped cause he couldnt read that well anymore when I was about 15 or 16, so I read for him. I just cant imagine my life without books.
Just for fun I looked for the very first book that I really remember reading, the title is "The flying cow".

My love for reading began with this book.  It is still my all time favorite book that I still read every couple years.

P. S. I Love You by Barbara Conklin

I hope to get a copy of this and re-read it.

Books by Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl  ^-^

When I was a little older, I used to smuggle my aunt's Stephen King books into my room, lol. Couldn't understand some parts, but what I did I really enjoyed  :P

hmm... im a "late bloomer" when it came to reading for the pleasure of it. my first read would be... twilight saga.  :) but hey, since then i'm like an addict when it came to reading, always reading something even when it's just a 30mins break from anything!

I can't remember the exact book, because  I've read so many. I started to read the comics Garfield, Spiderman, Archie, and Calvin and Hobbs when I was five. I remember a little later reading Judy Bloom, Beverly Cleary , Madeleine L'Engle , Sweet Valley High, the Babysitter's club, Little House on the Prairie , and Lovey by Mary MacCracken . Now i read mostly paranormal romance, fantasy, and survival books.
