Hi Everyone ...... For those of you who I don't know yet - Boy are You the Lucky Ones, You get a quiet peaceful life!!   :D :D

Seriously though, one of our very own Family - and yes I really do mean Family - has a giveaway of her latest novel on Amazon today.

Bev Allen who is the long suffering sister of our very own Mod Philo is generously giving away her latest novel "Jabin and the Space Pirates" free today on Amazon.

Now let me tell you ..... this is not usually my kind of book - but I really, really, really enjoyed it!!!!  Enough to stay away from my thrillers and adult  :) stuff permanently?  Probably not ..... but I do have to say I couldn't put it down!!!!   My animals are starving and can attest to that ......  :P

I am putting a description of the novel below with links where you can get it free.  I am also adding some of the current Amazon reviews and links for Bev's pages here on PTS so you can have a quick look see !!!!

Bev Allen - Jabin and The Space Pirates

In the space colony of New Wales, the pirate attacks are both relentless and merciless

Having lost both his parents, Jabin has been adopted by his austere and spiteful uncle and aunt who live in the space colony of New Wales which is riven with religious and political rivalry, and prey to the vicious marauding's of pirates whose cruelty and greed are beyond all imagination.

When Jabin volunteers to surrender himself to a pirate raiding party to save a friend, he does so believing that nothing can be worse than his current suffering.

However, he is soon to discover that things can always get worse when the stakes are high, the rewards are vast and slave labour is there for the taking.

When the King of New Wales is assassinated, the colony threatens to collapse into total anarchy, leaving the pirates free reign to mutilate, kill and profit as they will, but the forces of law and order sent out from Earth are getting ready to fight back, and Jabin could have a vital part to play in the ensuing war if he can only stay alive.

This is a Older YA adventure - targeting the 16-96 year old audience !!!!!!

Amazon Reviews in Brief .....

This is not a jolly pirate romp it is very much an adult / older teenage adventure story with a difference. The difference being that it is a sci-fi story of interplanetary colonists whose culture is like, but not like that of the Earth they left behind. The interest comes from the prejudices and and culture that has been handed down across the generations and across the miles of space. It may be a long way a way and in the future but the way that humanity behaves is strangely familiar. The characters are believable and vulnerable and the villains are very, very nasty.

Real characters and believable, human story lines. Jabin breaks your heart on numerous occasions, he is both fragile and strong, and shows this through his deeds for others. A beautifully crafted story set in another time and place that is close enough to our own to be totally believable. I loved this book. I need to know what happens to Mr.Eveson next...

this book is an amazing read and keeps you interested every step of the way. an amazing storyline and an engaging read, I would recommend this to anyone thinkng of buying it.

What a story! Not quite fantasy as I originally thought but a thriller mixed with such brilliant imagination!

Bev Allen shows us two worlds - the real and the fantasy, in terms of human understanding. Jabin, is a teenager boy who lives with his God fearing aunt and uncle whom, if he gets them annoyed, only gets a sample of a meal or if worse, no food at all. Jabin has no parents and no home he would like to call "home".

Blanking Amazon.  They and Bill Gates are right up there as anti-Christ contestants for me.  Google is in the running now too

Yeah I finally caught on.  Oh my opinions are un-bias.  Sis knows that.  The wife and I read it before it was published.  I have her new one on my hard drive. And a taste of her third one floating around on there too.  There are advantages to being an alpha reader.   :D  She also knows I will tell her flat out when something stinks or something is off.  As I told her, if you couldn't write, I would tell you how wonderful it is you quilt and how beautiful they are and shouldn't you spend more time sewing?

Yeah, either alpha or beta for me would be ideal the amount of books I get through.  I do some editing sometimes but its always boring stuff *non fiction tech* or foreign language translation so it's not the same.

I need you to do your Mod thing to get the troops interested and rallied.  Have you any idea how long the book will be free on Amazon?

I am going to PM you just now - I have an idea!!!!

It's a one day shot.  Every author has to agree to that if they want the max from them.  If they didn't grab the book today, tomorrow it will be back to cost.  If they don't agree get a tiny fraction of the profit compared to those who agree.

It should also be loanable for those who did grab it tho.  Example, Drypen can loan me the book to read since she bought it.

Those who don't have a Kindle can get it thru Kindle for PC.  That's how I read my stuff I get for free on Amazon. Kindle for PC is free and it's on Amazon for download.

Did you enjoy it?

Next one should be out this year.
If you want you can bug her publisher:  Taylor Street.   Located here if you really want to ask  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
The next one is called Lucian and The Tattooed Tribe.  Set in a planet with a lot of protected natural resources, lost colonists, and greedy businessmen who want to exploit it all plus the Rangers who protect it.

Very much so.

Jabin is an awesome character....I love Mike, I am not sure who I want to hug more.

As I mention before between to cover and space...I really thought this was going to human/alien story...

Again pointing out that you cant judge a book by it's cover.

And the one after that is called ( at the moment) "The Lord of the Faran Hills".
However, its only 10,500 thousand words at the moent and I need to draw both a time line and a map or I am going to get myself into one hell of a plotting mess.
Key words...fantasy, mercanaries, bastard princes, evil uncles and fintlock muskets. No magic, I can't do magic, it feels like cheating.

So are Jabin and Mike going to appear in this story as well?

Just wondering where she is going with the series...

Is it continual or is it a series just set in the same location?

And unless some author breaks her shoulder because she just has to fire a flintlock, it will be the third. Just saying.

Jabin isn't in it but Lucian is just as good but in a different way.  I actually liked it better but I loved the ending [oh please tell me it didn't change up]

Um...I feel I ought to say I don't think there will be a sequeal to "Jabin", not unless the fairy plot mother has an idea under her wings she hasn't yet told me about.

Don't say that too loud.  You know the fairy plot mother has an evil sense of humor....

I could do with her laying off just now, I'm deep into this third book and have finally ( smacks self on side of head) worked out what the two young heroes were trying to tell me about themselves.

Since I got to read the next, I think you will like it.  I loved Jabin, I love this one.  And my sister can tell you it isn't just cause she's  my sister and I don't want to have to sleep in the barn if I have to move in with her in my old age [you can stop screaming here sis...]

[and stop hyperventilating]

Sis made a request and she's too shy to ask.  I'm  not.  We all KNOW I am not.

If you have read Jabin could you star it [or review it, your choice] on Amazon or Goodreads?

See I'm not shy.
