Author Topic: What are your fave books in each genre? May 2012: Historical Romance  (Read 10593 times)

Offline Suike

Here is the monthly thread where everyone can pop in and list their favorite book from a different genre every month.

This month's poll winner is:

Historical Romance!

...they don't have to be strictly YA or Adult. Just list your favorites and maybe a reason why or a quick summary. (The books do not have to have both species, can be either or both)

I am going to include a poll at the top so everyone can vote for which genre to feature next week. (I included an "other" option...please specify in a post which genre. Thanks)

 Enjoy!!

Simple Jess by Pamela Morsi.

It's a very sweet, endearing book. The hero is "simple" was without oxygen when he was little and is thought of as slow but he's loyal, and caring. He's a virgin & I <3 a virgin hero!

Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase - The h is what every female character should be, strong, determined, independent, but never a shrew or a stubborn fool. The H is smartly written and surprisingly actually thinks like a man (so many historicals depics the H with wayyy too much female sensibilities). It's fun and engaging.

umm I can't pick my favs so I'll stick with authors who have written certain novels which I liked.
Since many of you have already mentioned most of them I guess the rest are Nicole Jordon, Jo Beverly and Catherine Coulter.

I heard alot about Stephanie Laurens and her book but unfortunately I haven't read any of her work. I guess I could start off with the Cynster novel if its really as good as you say

If you like the regency time, alpha males who find their soulmates in a headstrong heroine, a solid (love)story with a good dosis of humor, then try them. You can tell me your opinion afterward. If you like ;)

Nothing pisses me off more than a wimpy heroine and lack of humor in a story >:(. So do I want to try this then my answer is a definite HELL YEAH! ;D I am gonna start off now I'd love to share my opinions afterwards.

Stay tuned... ;)

Any historical romance by LISA KLEYPAS and JULIA QUINN is a definite treat! They are my all-time favorites because they make me fall in love with their heroes and laugh at their witty dialogues.  ;D

Judith Mcnaught is my favourite. All her historical romance are magical.Johanna Lindsey is also a great writer.Currently I am reading 'An Indecent Proposition' by Emma Wildes and absolutely loving it.Next on list is Sabrina Jefferies 'Only a Duke will do'.In the past few months i have read so many books where the Hero is a Duke that I could answer an exam on them. There is just something about the Duke's that even a Prince or King don't appeal to me.
