Author Topic: What are your fave books in each genre? Week 3: Angels/Demons  (Read 11409 times)

Offline jessadia

I have seen several people asking for suggestions for books, so I thought maybe we could start a weekly thread where everyone can pop in and list their favorite book from a different genre every week.

This week's poll winner is:

Angels and Demons

...they don't have to be strictly YA or Adult. Just list your favorites and maybe a reason why or a quick summary.

*I am going to include a poll at the top so everyone can vote for which genre to feature next week. (I included an "other" option...please specify in a post which genre. Thanks)

 Enjoy!! :)

Uhm, I'm not sure if Angels and demons means the book has to have both, so I'll mention books with both or just one of the offered. If that's okay, Jess?
Until Silence, I'd have said Hush, hush series, now just the first two books in the series.
Angelfall, I love this one, LOVE it! Can't wait for the sequel.
Guild Hunter series, mhm, yes, Raphael makes one wonderful archangel. :P
Angel/Angel burn, love this one as well, a rather interesting take on angels here.
Series with demons I really liked is Dante Valentine.
There's more books here, but for now I'll leave it with this, brain won't give me any other titles. :S

This is my personal favorite genre :D

Here are some of my favorites:

Angelfall by Susan Ee (angels)
The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare (angels, demons....these books have it all)
Angel series by L.A. Weatherly (angels)
Fallen series by Lauren Kate (angels)
Beg for Mercy by Shannon Dermott (mostly demons but has angels)
The Demon Trapper's Daughter and Soul Thief by Lana Oliver (demons and angels)

[edit] No, the book(s) do not have to have both... can have either one or both

haven't read very much in this genre to be honest... so I guess TMI & Hush Hush #1. I'm thinking very hard right now but can't remember any other  :-\

Larissa Ione's Demonica series.  I love that whole series, and the follow up series with the four horsemen of the apocolypse too.

Shiloh Walker's Grimm series.

I'm sure there are plenty more, but those are the ones that stick in my mind.

* Hush, Hush (angels) - only the 1st book,
* Daughter of Smoke and Bone (angels & demons) - I really liked the fact that it isn't your standard take on angel and demon lore,
* After Eden (angels & demons) - indie, but it was so hilarious at times,
* Unearthly (angels) - I'm wondering how the love triangle will be resolved.

- The Nightwalker series by Jacqueline Frank (demons)
- Lords of the Underworld by Gena Showalter (demons)
- Fallen Angels series by Dawn McClure (well...the title says it all)

I would love to know where we vote on the poll? I am nuts for not knowing this..lol! ::) I want to vote for books with fae romance like Deborah Courts book that is out. They are so hard for me to find!! But my Fav demon books (as I have not read many Angel books or YA books at all) are Immortals After Dark ( Love them  Demons and all other Lore beings!!), Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld are also some sexy demons!!, I also loved Eve Silver's Otherkin series (They may be demigods but they are demons...yummy!!!!), LOVED the books by Jacquelyn Frank: Shadowdwellers AND Nightwalkers need I really say why?? And I also enjoyed Emma Holly's Demon World series. I am not sure why they grabbed my attention except that their society is so crrraaazyy in that series that I could not seem to put them down once I started!!! The Demon's gotta realize they are so much better when they are being bad in a good way right?..lol! :-*

I love the Dark Hunter books by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Theirs this amazing story of love and betrayal, loss of hope only to have it given to you. A fight that can never be won, and a goddess that is selfish beyond contempt. A mother that is on a path she can not change from even though it's started a war with her son that she loves with all her heart.

If you ever wanted to know how Atlantis disappeared, find out about the Roman Gods, Demons, and humans, Shape shifters, and other beings these are the books for you.

I have them all posted on STP look them up.
There worth you time.

hmm, this is a bit difficult because i'm an avid reader of this genre but i must say i really really liked The Mortal Instruments Series . Love, Humor, Despair, Joy, Insanity, and of course, Torture ;D ::) I definitely loved how Cassandra Claire added twists in the story, and somehow I can't seem to stop myself from wondering what the next book would be like and what sort of challenge would they face. I admit, I've read many books, but this one never failed to surprise me with every page I've read :)). I also like the Prequel Series of TMI, The Infernal Devices, although I was quite annoyed on the way Tessa acted in the 2nd book, The Clockwork Prince  :-\  I also liked Hush Hush Series by Becca Fitzpatrick, though I do not really like Nora  :P
