Author Topic: What are your fave books in each genre? Week 3: Angels/Demons  (Read 11408 times)

Offline jessadia

I have seen several people asking for suggestions for books, so I thought maybe we could start a weekly thread where everyone can pop in and list their favorite book from a different genre every week.

This week's poll winner is:

Angels and Demons

...they don't have to be strictly YA or Adult. Just list your favorites and maybe a reason why or a quick summary.

*I am going to include a poll at the top so everyone can vote for which genre to feature next week. (I included an "other" option...please specify in a post which genre. Thanks)

 Enjoy!! :)

I love the Dark Hunter books by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Theirs this amazing story of love and betrayal, loss of hope only to have it given to you. A fight that can never be won, and a goddess that is selfish beyond contempt. A mother that is on a path she can not change from even though it's started a war with her son that she loves with all her heart.

If you ever wanted to know how Atlantis disappeared, find out about the Roman Gods, Demons, and humans, Shape shifters, and other beings these are the books for you.

I have them all posted on STP look them up.
There worth you time.

is it possible if you post a list of which books you have?the ones of the dark hunter series? THANKSYOU SOOO MUCH! :)) ahh, Devil May Cry is one of her books, it's REALLY good.

Uhm, I'm not sure if Angels and demons means the book has to have both, so I'll mention books with both or just one of the offered. If that's okay, Jess?
Until Silence, I'd have said Hush, hush series, now just the first two books in the series.
Angelfall, I love this one, LOVE it! Can't wait for the sequel.
Guild Hunter series, mhm, yes, Raphael makes one wonderful archangel. :P
Angel/Angel burn, love this one as well, a rather interesting take on angels here.
Series with demons I really liked is Dante Valentine.
There's more books here, but for now I'll leave it with this, brain won't give me any other titles. :S

I like Angel/Angel Burn too by L.A. Weatherly! :)
Lauren Kate's Fallen, I really like this one. :3

It's been a long time since this thread was updated, so I thought I'd bump this question. I've never read any angel books, but would like to start. I'll start with what's already listed above, but are there any newer books that you would recommend that have angels?

You HAVE to read Angelfall by Susan Ee.  I've read all the ones already mentioned and most are pretty entertaining, but Angelfall was a great book by a newly published indie author.  World After, the second book in the series, is supposed to be published in November of this year too, so if you do end up liking Angelfall, the story will be fresh in your mind for the 2nd book.

If you like reading books with a little bit of an edge and outside of the young adult/new adult genre, then I also highly recommend Nalini Singh's Guild Hunters series.  Both authors take angels to a different and innovative route.
“Akri won't let me eat any of them nasty gods. What's the world coming to when a demon gots to beg for tidbits...not even a finger sandwich or a single knuckle. Tragic. Terribly tragic.”
― Sherrilyn Kenyon, Styxx

Oh!  And if you like some humor in your books, then definitely check out the Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones.  The series starts with First Grave on the Right.
