Thinking about getting a Kobo Aura. Just wondering what other people's experiences have been like with this device.

Well, I've had a chance to play with one at my local high street electronics retailer as I was considering getting a new eReader.

In all honestly, the build of the Kobo Aura is OK, it feels heavy when compared to my Sony PRS-350 eReader.  It has a front lit LED which illumiates the eInk screen, it uses the same IR sensors that are used on my Sony PRS-350 to detect touch gestures.  It does support a wide varity of book formats epub, mobi, CBR, CBZ, pdf, rtf, html and txt files.  It can also read MS Word files.  It does not have any audio support.  It comes with 4GB internal storage and a microSDCard explansion slot.  It has Wi-Fi support so you can use it to surf the net.  It comes with both Chess and Sudoku games.

The only downside is that you have to use either Calibre or Kobo to add/remove books from the device or just add them to a microSDCard.  The Kobo Aura like the rest of it's predecessors does not support native USB mounting so you cann't use it as a standard USB flash to transfer files.

You do relies that Jason Bourne spent most of his time running away from his past and hunting those who were responsible for creating him right?  I don't see how channeling Jason Bourne is gonna help you find somebody in Witness Protection?  :P

Actually the CIA has nothing to do with the Witness Protection Program, the US Marshalls are the ones who handle that.  I don't see how an geneticall enhanced assassin with a really shiny head can find me!  :D

I don't think that will happen since I am a witness in a very high profile case!
