KINDLE FIRE HD 8.9"
« on: May 11, 2015, 06:15 PM »
Please. Please help me. I've  always used nook hd+  and other  nooks.

HOW  DO I SIDE LOAD  BOOKS SO THEY SHOW UP IN MY LIBRARY.  ALSO-IF i REMOVE THE BOOK FROM THE HOME PAGE  AND PUT IT IN MY LIBRARY. Sorry I just noticed I have been using all caps. Why can't I put the usb cord in and add to the library. I have used FBreader  and sometimes  dropbox.I have too many I want to add from my desktop.I'll settle for anything just get it in the library. I've tried so many different things. I also has it able to  install from unknown places.
I am ready to throw this thing away-but it was a gift.

It's actually easy - just a bit quirky. I've done it a dozen times... I've had mixed results using Calibre, and prefer to just drag and drop files from my computer.

This is what I do:
First, "buy" any free book from Amazon and have it automatically load to your Fire. Now you know you have a book file loaded.

If you plug the Kindle Fire into your PC, with a USB to Micro-USB connector, it should appear in My Computer as a drive. On the Kindle Fire, Amazon purchased books should be found in the Internal Storage/Documents/My Kindle Books folder... Drag and drop (with file manager) .mobi files to the documents folder. The Fire should recognize these files as books, and place them in your book carousel.
