Kindle newb ?s
« on: August 05, 2012, 05:33 PM »
I'm getting a Kindle as an early Christmas present & it should arrive on Monday.  Is there anything I should know in advance about using books from here on it? I will be able to, won't I? It's not going to lock up on me and accuse me of being a book thief is it and then  charge my credit card for them?   I apologize if this has been previously covered. I couldn't find anything covering these questions so just point me in the right direction if it's been asked & answered before. TIA!

All I can tell you is that if you add any files to your Kindle, they will stay on that device but the books won't sync to other devices that have Kindle Apps.  I worried about this when I added books to my iBooks app on my iPad and iPod but I have never been charged so my guess would be that you are safe.  Keep an eye on the free sites like Kindle Daily Nation, Pixels and Ink, Books on the Knob and others.  there are a lot of "iffy" books on those sites but occasionally a really good book shows up free for a time frame.

Have fun with your new toy!

Please excuse any spelling errors.   I have dyslexic fingers!
