No she did not.
Really?  This story sounds crazy. I may have to skim it just for the laughs. I have a really hard time getting emotional over a story that has so many bad things happening to the characters. You have one or two bad things. After that? It's a soap opera.  And 69K words are not enough for that.

It's not badly written. The plot is awful. But I just couldn't read another thing. When they came to Bella's door wanting to arrest her and she recognizes the guy that wants to arrest her as someone who tried to rape her in the past.
I did read until chapter 13. I skimmed some of it after a while.

Well - I flounced my first fic in ages this afternoon.  Forgotten by teamjazzmett showed up on Twilighted under New Moon category.  She evidently wrote it back in 2009 and then pulled it to rewrite.  She needs a beta.   I lasted one chapter, saw red and said "that's it".   I was hitting spags - commas and apostrophies where they shouldn't be  (Cullen's which should have been Cullens plural - no apostrophy) and then I hit a couple of misspellings.  And then I actually started to remember the story toward the end of the chapter.  I didn't like it the first time around and never made it beyond the first chapter last time it was up.   The spags alone were enough - I said Goodbye. I am still evidently very unforgiving.

I don't understand Twilighted.  Isn't a part of their validation process partial beta'ing?
One of the rare few....

Yes dasbaiyo! And what is funny a lot of authors can't post there if their stories are not checked by beta or if there are some small errors. And yet you can find there a lot of stories written by people who don't know how to write correctly.

The problem is people using beta readers who have just as poor of a grasp of basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation as they do. If you think you're using commas and apostrophes correctly, you're going to go to people who use them the same (wrong) way that you do.

There's supposed to be a validation beta to approve the story in general but that doesn't mean the validation beta improves the spelling and there is no validation beta listed as being the validation beta (which is weird in itself).  A number of writers have regular betas to preread and correct before the validation beta gets it.  Don't know what's going on with this one?

The other thing that doesn't seem quite fair is that if you are a validation beta and you are posting your own fic, you don't need a validation beta - you can just post it.   jakeward does Robsten fics and when she posts I bite my tongue and stay away from the pm button.  She needs a beta because she is evidently not checking her own work.  It drives me nuts.

I've said this many times, you cannot beta your own work. You can be a member of the grammar police and still you will miss stuff in your own writing because you read it as you expect it to be written. By that I mean you know what it's supposed to say and after a while that is what you see.

I got A's in English (including college, though it wasn't my major) and people still find a few errors in the reports I write even after I've reviewed it multiple times. It just impossible to catch them all.  Though printing it out and reading back to front helps. ;D

Is it bad that I want to flounce a fic at the beginning of the first chapter just because Bella says she owns a flat?  I should probably preface by saying she's an actress in Hollywood. Last I checked?  We have condos in Los Angeles. She'd have to move to San Francisco at minimum to find a "flat"  :P

The story is Total Eclipse of the Heart by Ashel-13.

This is on my TBR, I'm definitely pushing it down the list now.
I hate when the author says that Bella fell pregnant cos she's on antibiotics, I mean haven't they ever heard of condoms.  >:( :banghead: :banghead: Or actually any other form of contraception that can be used while on antibiotics.

I saw this again since PTS was telling me everything was new again, and got a little worried since I am taking antibiotics for a tooth problem and taking birth control (Don't trust that breastfeeding alone will work).  So I looked up the interaction between antibiotics and birth control, and from what I read (which wasn't very extensive, but information on two government health pages) it is only a very specific class of antibiotics that will react with birth control and they aren't the standard ones.  I haven't read any of these stories that use antibiotics as a pregnancy causer, but it does seem like a gimmick.

Now that I say all this, I'll get pregnant since I am taking antibiotics.

I totally agree with you - a VERY overused gimmick.

It's funny but I was warned by the pharmacist once or twice when taking antibiotics. Now it's not an issue. But it could be because I have limited antibiotics that I can take.

So I can see that happening.  I did have a friend get pregnant while on antibiotics. But it probably had more to do with the fact she was also throwing up everything at the same time.  Pills don't work well if you don't actually keep them down.  :D :D :D :D

I'm going with anything written by mamasutra.  Don't get me wrong I don't think that she is a terrible writer , however, all she writes about is cheating and it's mostly Edward ALWAYS cheating on Bella.  I actually wrote her a message because she recently wrote a story that was flagged edward&bella edward&leah.  Of course Edward is cheating on Bella with Leah (which btw makes my stomach roll but to each it's own).  I asked her to please mark a story Edward & Leah, so I know to stay away from it. I personally just took her off my alerts because honestly I don't mind a cheating story.  But really that's all she writes.  And after a while how many stories can a person really read about cheating from the same author it's like all the same. :(

OMG, just seeing that author's name makes me ragey.  I have boycotted ALL her stories.  And no, her writing is NOT good either.  So between her despicable characters, the disrespect towards sensitive issues, and shredding apart the reason so many of us read Twific, which is the magical bond between B&E, just her username makes me cringe.  You are not alone!!!!!

Sins of My Past
Author: content1  PM
Bella was left by Edward to clean up the ruins of her life after his betrayal. What happens when Edward finds out that not all was as it seems. What are the consequences of his sins and what will he do to get her back?

I heard  lot about this fic before but recently in other thread some one mentioned it so  tried.Needless to say after 4 chapter i flounced it. infact if you read in 1st paragraph  of second chapter ,You can easily say that writing of this story is completely immuture & stupid & unrealisitcs.  Characters are so unnatural that i dont have words.

Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.

P.S:- its has 88 somthing  chapter, after reading 4 chapter i wanted kill someone I dont know how can anyone read 88 chapter of this mindless story.I guess others can read since it has like 10 k reviews. :o :o :o

P.P.S:- bella having edward's baby & than their reunion after years kind of stories are always cringeworthy. Hardly any author does justice to concept.anything close to perfect i have read is Secret & lies. even SAL  has some flaw still it is  well-develop story.

I read this story, but was SOOOOO ready to flounce several times....but I made my through it and totally regretted it, because it left me with nightmares.  I shouldn't have put myself through it....I knew better.  The thing is, I really love a couple of Content1's other stories.  But I hate that this story (plot) even came out of her head.  It was a hard read, and yes, there was forced angst/drama.  When a character is TOO flawed (Edward), then you just can root for the HEA anymore.  That's how I felt with this story, and after such a long one, it left me feeling angry, empty, and depressed.  I just won't touch stuff like that anymore.

I only 'skimmed' this story, and I don't like angst...but from what I remember, there was angst for the sake of angst.  I can't STAND when two adults who, at one point, fell in love and got married, somehow unlearn how to open their mouths and COMMUNICATE!!!!!  It makes me ragey....like, why can't they scream and yell at their spouse and get it out in the open!!.  No, I don't remember specifics, but I remember thinking from the parts I skimmed, that not only were they a very UNLIKEABLE B&E, I wouldn't even want to KNOW a couple like them.  Too much drama and hurt for absolutely no reason.

Sometimes, even if a story is well-written, when I see plots like this, it's enough that I won't EVER read a story written by that author.  If their imagination can go there....then I'm not interested in any future plot-bunnies!!

So, regardless of the amount of reviews, I'm right there with you.  I would NEVER take my time to read that story.  :)

I flounced this too (I read far too much first). I felt there was way too much damage done for how quickly Edward and his family were forgiven by Bella.  I love a good redemption story, and this could have been, but totally went the spineless Bella route.  Throw in the miraculous surgery - yeah I quit!

I've tried so many times to read this one and just can't do it. First 11 chapters were great then the entire story changed and just gave me a major headache.

I loved that fic, and YES, it was VERY wordy, but CCward is one of my favs.  And Books has an extraordinary imagination!!  Sometimes the detail can be too much, and the amount of internal dialogue can be overwhelming, but for an AU with supernatural and mythological themes, it was quite amazing if that is your cup of tea!
