According to the blogs the Ashwinder mod is working on fixing the problem, so it might come back at some point. It's annoying because a lot of the really good SSHG fics are archived on there and I'm currently on an SSHG binge and I seem to have run out of decent epic-lengths just in time to go on holiday - isn't it lovely?

I haven't read anything by Ms-Figg. I've tried a couple and I'm not sure why but her writing style just doesn't tickle my fancy. I'm going to load Daddy Dearest onto my Kindle for the holiday anyway though.

I absolutely adore all of Aurette's writing. I think Of Muggles and Magic was my favourite, but Crystal of Time was excellent fun Speaking of Aurette, have you read her Practical Solutions yet? It's a fun read as well, but not archived on FFN.

Do you read WIPs at all? Because Bound to Him by Georgesgurl117 is magnificent and apparently still being updated. You can find it here: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login . It's got a somewhat traumatic beginning for everyone involved, but the characterization is magnificent, I love this fic's McGonagall more than life itself. I think my favourite thing is how it sort of sneaks the divergence from canon up on you (except for the obvious ones right at the beginning) and the way she's managed to have several AHAH! moments in one fic. On the downside, I do feel that one pregnancy scare per fic should be the limit...

Here you go - one copy of Practical Solutions for your pleasure. Of Muggles and Magic is a work of absolute genius, as long as you don't mind Regency AUs. Seems like SSHG is a ship made for Regency AUs and I find it so sad that there aren't more of them around.

To be honest, now might not be a good time to start BtH, or read to the end of it. The current chapter ends on a horrible combination of a cliffhanger and a Big Reveal which has had me obsessively checking and rechecking for updates for about a month now.

I haven't read Georgette Heyer, so I couldn't tell you, but I do remember that there is another Regency-Style fic, His Draught of Delicate Poison by Subversa, that people have mentioned has a touch of Heyer to it, especially in specific scenes, so it might be that one, if it's not oM&M you're thinking of.

I have been very sad since the viruses crippled Ashwinder. My friend and I were trying to think of fics that we were missing from there. I was so giddy to see someone rec His Draught of Delicate Poison by subversa. She is one of my favorite writers and is a darling woman.

I would like to recommend a few classics--and a few "newer" fics--that are wonderful reads:

Hinge of Fate by Ramos (on ffnet)--pregnancy fic written before Order of the Phoenix
