I'm reading Out of Sight, Out of Mind by Simaril right now You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

I think it deserves more reviews than it has.

I like reading multi-chapter fics so I want my HEA.  Life's rough enough as it is so I have no desire to deal with heartache in my 'recreational' time.

I'm pretty much anything goes apart from that as long as the writing is good.  I enjoy non-canon because I think it's really nice to explore the other characters - though I haven't really gotten into reading about wolf pack main characters.  I prefer the vamps :)

I also like angst and UST.  I don't mind lemons, but they can get repetitive and unrealistic.  I don't particularly enjoy High School fics, or fics with children.  HS was too long ago for me and I have young children so I get seriously annoyed with how they don't seem to take up any of B&E's time in fics...

Great idea to start a discussion thread, Ella :)
You held out your hand, and I took it without stopping to make sense of what I was doing. For the first time in almost a century, I felt hope.

I'm also having trouble getting away from fanfic.  I have a book club and for the last year I haven't read any of our chosen books.  I'm too busy reading about E/B.  I also can't admit that to anyone in my book club!

Um...You're not alone. I haven't read anything Twilight related since the beginning of 2009 when I first read the books. Once I discovered fanfic I haven't looked back.

I did try to read a Wally Lamb book a couple years ago, but never made it past a couple of pages. I need E/B lol

I read a lot of romance novels in junior high (which is what we called middle school back in the day), experience romance in high school and college, and then read mysteries and more "intellectual" material post college.  Then I picked up Twilight in 2010 so I would know what my daughter and her friends were talking about.  Apparently, my brain was starved for romance because I couldn't move away from them.  Then, at the beginning of 2011, I found fanfiction due to a link on Rob Pattinson fansite, and an obsession was born.

I buy more shelves and, umm, I might have some stacks of books on the floor in my bedroom.
The stairs also make great places to stack books :)

Ella - I might have a few on the stairs that haven't made it all the way to my bedroom or other places in my house with shelves, tabletops and available floor space.  You can never have too many books, whether paper or electronic.

And Mickey - could you go ahead and decorate ALL the walls in this discussion abode?

Yup, can barely sit on the couch in our room nor on the window seat bec there's a jungle of books there too. I do draw the line on stairs though, that's an accident waiting to happen.

Oh, my 84 yr old mother renewed her love for reading harlequin... i have reduced my inventory some as its now at her house  :)  Funny thing though, didn't realize i included some Blaze books in the batch I gave her... She was complaining to me there was hardly any story, she thought there was too much s.e.x.  :D

Troublefollows1017 is making a pitch to Harlequin to get an original work published.  You know, she wrote Fridays at Noon among others.

She has a link on her profile so you can vote for her story to get published.  Go to her profile, then click on the link and vote for her.  You can vote every day until Oct. 11.  Let's get behind a really good fanfic author.

Here's her profile: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

First of all Thank you Ellachanted  for opening this thread. :-*

I will strat with fic i read  2days ago & now i regret so much that why i read fic.Ok i havnt completely read it , i just skimmed through chapters & read few key point  chapters in story. Its You Belong to Me by TwidictedByrd.I understand that authors are new to writing &  i read in profile that they are writing as team. But more than 1 or 2 people come up with somthing like this is beyond me.I  dont know what is thier age but couldnt any one in thier team pointout so many flaws in story.

This Edward-Bella are so so messed up in the begining. And than edward turn totally douchward to sweetward in  just 7 months. Its like 360 turn.Noone change so much dramtically..None of the charcters has any depth in entire story..You actually dont feel for any character good or bad.Writer doesnt explain why Edward-Bella so messed up in begining. No past  nothing. They also doesnt explain Why parents are so pathetic. They  r just pathetic and you have to accept it.Esme is supporting mother  but so unrealistic and stupid..Emmet is edward's twin..it mean he is probably 18 or 19 in story. His highschool pass son impregnant  woman who is 6-7 yr older than him and she is all happy about welcoming grandkid. She doesnt care about his collage or career.than Edward also does the same with bella.they didnt even finish 1st year of colleage and get married & preganant..And she is there to give blessing.WTF.  :pulling

and they are like 2-3 chapters where its all about Rosaile's preganncy craving And delivery difficulty etc etc..I dont mind if author focus on other chracters but if they are gonna make EB like side  chracters in those chapters than i am so not intersted.Hello i am reading fic for EB. not for anyone else.

and 1 thing in between story ,,Bella's best friend got into major accident, during her surgery and just after her death writer describe  about EB's arousing & turnning on from thier physical contact..geez its so disgusting.Someone is about to die  and someone is dead.your close friend.and u are thinking about sex.  :33:

I just hope Author of this  fic or any other authors are not member of these forum.I dont want to disrespect them or insult thier work.but i wish sometime writer just use basic comman sense.you dont need great skill to think about little realistic  human emotion.

This is easy, RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN. There is some angst, or really more heartfail, but there is an HEA. Although I read it as a wip over the past 29 months, I can honestly say I cannot find anything to complain about. Great plot that is developed thoroughly and a love that will conquer all.

:021:  I've just had to abandon His Cimmerian View. It's just was too immaturely written for me; it tried to tackle pretty heavy subjects with the dialogue of a 12 year old....The only interesting thing was that it is written primarily in EPOV (which I normally like) but unfortunately this Edward was so "off" you really didn't want hear what he's saying- he's just not very authentic ....:021:

At 13 Bella is left to care for her siblings. 5yrs later she still struggles to provide for them. Edward is a professor at UW, who thinks all women are users and liars. When paths cross, what happens when Bella is just another female who lied. AH/OOC/18

YellowGlue is a very popular writer who is on my to read list, however I have no personal experience with the stories.   ;)

For me YellowGlue is the holy grail of Fanfic writers.  I have loved every one of her stories I have managed to get my hands of and Stumblin is my all time, smack up, hands down favourite. I also love TeamBella Aha Shake made me laugh til I almost peed ( is that allowed?) my pants. I am so anxiously waiting for Dusty to be completed so I can read it, I don't know how I have held out from just diving in, WIP or not....I read today though that it's coming to the final chapters

Thanks for starting this Ella!

Toye was awesome, and I believe it was the first non-HEA I read as well. When I got to the end, I probably sat there, mouth hanging open in shock because I just wasn't expecting that. I kept expecting him to fall for her lol.

OK you have all piqued my interest where can I find this Toye?! I don't think I have read a non-HEA yet but I'm quiet new to FanFic Town...
