Based on what I've seen, you either set up a new profile that is both authors, one of the authors posts the story on their profile but gives credit to the other author in the A/N, or each author posts it on their sites and the story has two different story numbers.

Oh, I thought I saw it as you can have two links to both authors on a story number. Thank you thought! :)

Just a heads up for everyone:

I had my son help me with transferring/formatting fanfiction stories to PDFs and he led me to an awesome site called FF2EBOOK.com. All you have to do is copy/paste the url's to the window supplied, and it opens up another tab to download the story to ePub, then open in whatever ereader you like. Easy peasy!

Hey guys,
So recently I downloaded the fanfic.net app, and have several stories downloaded onto the app. However when coming to transfer all he titles to Calibre, I realised that one has been removed. Is there any known way of downloading the stories (which no longer exists on fanfic.net) from the app to calibre?

Ssshhh, and read the fanfiction. ;)

Ssshhh, and read the fanfiction. ;)

You can use Bloxp. It allows you to pull posts from a WordPress site. It will only pull the first 250 posts. Just put the URL for the first post, check whether or not you want a Table of Contents, and then click Start. Once they are pulled, you will be given the option to delete and rearrange the posts into the order that you want for your eBook. Once you've done that, you will then be able to download your eBook as an EPUB or MOBI Kindle format. IT WILL NOT SAVE AS PDF.

Are there any websites to download stories from starslibrary? Ficlab is the only one I know, and it seems to be down. Thanks!

ficsave
calibre
fanfictiondownloader
the downloader built into Stars Library - look for the printer symbol next to the title (just print to your pdf program instead of a paper printer) or these instructions might work for you:  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

There may be others, but these are the ones that come immediately to mind.

I searched and haven't seen it mentioned yet, so I figured I put this out here (especially for anyone like me who doesn't want to download software)

I use You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

It's for fanfiction.net stories only. Requires signup. It only offers PDF and EPUB downloads and for anything else I use You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login. I've used online-convert for a lot conversions outside of fanfiction and it's never let me down.

Pro's to FFnet:
  • Easy downloading, after you paste the URL it does the work for you, all you have to do is pick the format. You can download either the whole fic or pick a specific chapter if that's what you need.
  • It saves your history, number of times you downloaded, and date of last download, which is great; I can go check my flash drives to make sure I have a copy before getting a double or even triple copy.

Con's to FFnet:
  • Your history sticks. You can't do anything to edit/remove/delete once it's archived.
  • No account settings/no Delete Account option, which would've been nice to know before signing up but it's done and what I've been using for years

Downloading extra software makes me nervous because I've had issues with that on old computers and I want to keep this one clean, but if something like You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login is worth it... is it worth it?

I've been using fanfictiondownloader for years. It's my main downloader and one of the very few that still downloads from twilighted.net
Its drawback is that it doesn't work with archiveofourown or fictionpad for which I use  calibre ficfanfare plugin.

Update: looks like it works with AO3, I never noticed before.

I love using the fanfiction downloader as part of calibre.  You need to download the calibre program and the add on, but it's easy and using it is easy.  Search "calibre" on the 4th and 5th Twilight discussion and recommendations thread and you'll find all kinds of tips and information.
Thanks. Newbie ? here - but could  I d/l Lisa unger (for example)  thru the fanfiction downloader? thanks! (ps..if not then how?)

You have to look at which websites fanfiction downloader works on and whether Lisa Unger posts on one of those websites.

So I have been using the Calibre fanficfare plugin and noticed this evening that my epub files that I have downloaded since updating the plugin from fanfictiondownloader, has line breaks in the middle of sentences.

Just wondering if anyone has an updated settings for fanficfare, as mine are the same as before yet page breaks in the middle of sentences.  :-\

Ssshhh, and read the fanfiction. ;)

I have not encountered any new problems with the updated fic downloader on calibre and I use it all the time. I haven't updated to the newest version of calibre, just the plugin so maybe that's where your issue lies?

I was wondering if anybody had a solution to getting good epub files from fics in pdf form. I read fics on my kindle almost exclusively thanks to calibre, but am encountering a problem. Specifically, CaraNo's fics are only offered in pdfs and they all look terrible when you convert them from pdf into epub on calibre. Any fixes to this? or any way someone has been able to read CaraNo's fics in epub?

I've tried enabling heuristic processing, and changing some features under layout, but it seems no matter what i do there are weird breaks between sentences. Calibre is somehow reading new paragraphs in the middle of sentences and it basically makes reading impossible.
