Trying to convert a PDF to anything readable on my iPad (I have the Kindle app). Calibre is giving me an error DRM is not allowing it to be converted.

Help!

I don't think I've ever come across a DRMed PDF! Do you have the DRM breaking tools for Calibre? I have no clue if it works for PDFs, but it's worth a shot. If you'd like, you can email me the file and I can see if my Calibre will convert it.

eacalltheway - I'd have to agree with you on AI this year - the girls so far have been amazing.   I missed tonight's show - I fell asleep.   There have been a couple of people  however who got passed through that I disagree with but I'm rationalizing that by the time Hollywood Week is over, that they'll be gone.

Hi,

I am looking for two complete rating M fanfictions with Bella and Edward as main characters.

One fanfiction like "Bella Swan Kidnapper" (funny, simple and joyful) and the other with a mob theme but not too heavy like "There will be blood".

What do you recommend me?

Thank you for your help.

You can find a list of recc'ed mob fics here: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

 >:D >:D     SCRUFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF   >:D >:D

Gosh - I got the Flu shot this year....let's hope it works.

The BronzeHorseman and I think it has a sequel. Haven't read it.

Outlander - I have read the first 3, Voyager being my favorite. It has its moments, but remember girls, she is wordy.
The show ? OUTSTANDING.

Over the past year, I have read a little this, and a little that.
  • Love Emma Chase.
  • Got to Book 6 of Karen Marie Monin's Highlander series.
  • Current series reading - Kallypso Masters. (on Book 2). Pron with plot ;-). Dominant males, prior military, yada yada yada. I actually gave Book 1 (I got the version that was .5 & 1 combined)  - 4 stars and started on the next one.

DRM - I've tried, but I am lost. I need a lovely tutorial from Ella like she sent us on first setting up our Calibre libraries way back when.

I went over to Gossip Cop after I left here and I have one question - what the hell is going on with AI getting all these former contestants from either the Voice or the X-Factor (tonight was 15 year old Gianna) ?   Its not enough that they lost on one music show but they now have to compete on a another show?  I get the people who tried auditioning for Idol on previous seasons who took the judges' advice , improved and then came back and tried again.  That however does not ensure that one will still make it past Hollywood Week.   I cheered last week when Mr. Wonderful who supposedly sings opera and has the ego to match tried out and got shot down.   They do seem to be showing less of the jerks who can't sing this year for which I am grateful- but then again I didn't watch tonight so maybe I missed some.

Thanks, Booked. I think we enjoy the same types of books. If you haven't read Kitty French's Knight series you're in for a treat.

AI is back...and it's really good. It's the year for the girls...they're some awesome singers on there. How is/did your girls do Booked. I saw that clip you posted, they are smokin'.

Now for some serious shite.....beard or no beard ladies? I am seeing quite a few gents with that full grown stuff on their faces. I typically like clean shaven...but....I leaning.....

I liked the Knight series too! Have you read J. kenner's Stark Trilogy? It's the same genre and i liked that better that Knight.

4th Impact made it to 5th place in UK x-factor. Hope they get a record deal and tons of work despite not winning the contest.

I prefer ckean shaven. But i do look if i see a guy rockin' scruff. Kissing someone with scruff though is not my thing. Kinda hurts so i tell my hubs to shave (thankfully, mustache, scruff nor beard don't fit him so he never grew one beyond what was "tolerable" looking.

Nice pics RDMckey! The Architecture in Europe is pretty awesome

I like a bit of scruff.  :P :P
The last few months I've lived with hubby going through his "Bronson" phrase (he did the Be Bold, Be Bald October and Movember) but not looking as hot as Tom Hardy.  :P :P
But he did raise quite a bit of money for doing it, so I can't really complain.
And since December he's decided that he wants the beardy lumbersexual look, which is hot but I've had so much rug burn in the last few months I want the beard gone.  ;) :D

Yup, The Bronze Horseman and The Outlander. Two series i will never read, sorry!  :P

Now, that's a series i would rec! The 3rd book, The Score, came out jan. 11.  :) I hope to read it this weekend, right after i finish Halfway to the Grave, which I am enjoying.

Glad you're feeling better and your son is adjusting to Arizona.  :)

Yeah, after reading that review I decided to skip the Bronze Horseman.

I started watching Outlander and loved it, so I decided to spoil myself on Wikipedia before starting the books. (I didn't want to start reading the series without an HEA of the shippers I wanted). Yeah, I won't be reading those either.

Glad you're enjoying Frost's Halfway to the Grave. After I rec'd it here, it stuck in my noodle and I started reading the series again last night. It's my first reread, so it's wonderful to revisit Cat and Bones' first days and the plethora of misunderstandings... SOOOO much to come. *wrings hands excitedly* I can't wait!

All right, just read about Kitty French's Knight series, and added it to my TBR. Sounds right up my alley. Thanks for the rec!

I was against beard beards until I went on a month-long camping trip with my then boyfriend who decided shaving wasn't worth the hassle while roughing it. Turns out... I agreed. There's that one moment of discomfort, but once the hair lengthens just enough it gets soft. Yum. And yeah, nice and tingly. I am going to have to give short beards a thumbs up albeit not for their looks.  :)

Bella's an intellectual free spirit and Edward is a reserved, slightly geeky med student. They have a brief, but intense encounter on Sp Brk in Miami. Can they find true love through emails? There will be lemons and laughs. Look who's writing this!

Both of these were well written and cute/funny with a Sweet Edward.  CaraNo has a set - What's Up Doc (BPOV)/Oh I'll Tell you What's Up (EPOV) that were also well written and hilarious.  They are available on PDF on her blog - You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login  And are also probably in the Index here as well.

In the Index there is also a Vagina Monologue by jtmd24 You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
I remember reading it and it being hilarious.  But it is PDF, and I don't usually reread stuff that I can't put on my Kindle.

First & Ten by You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login - or frankly almost everything by Nolebucgrl is funny. But if you don't enjoy football, F&T and her Sideline Collisions stories will probably be a bit annoying.  Words With Friend/Words with Strangers are both good, especially if you like Actorward.  There's a merged version in the Index as well.

I have others, but most of them have grammar/spelling errors that may not make it worth reading them, depending on your tolerance

Really, though? Bella Swan, Kidnapper is hard to match....

Thank you!

I have already read Carano's and Nolebucgrl fanfictions. But I will try "Dr Mr Masen" and "Love In My Box".

About the grammar/spelling I am tolerant, because I am French and I don't see all the errors, but I learn English partially thanks to the reading of Fanfictions so I prefer to read well written FF.

You aren't the only one who feels like they aren't with it.  Happens to me all the time here - I hit an abbreviation for whatever and just go "huh?"   Gianna's (from Idol) mother is supposed to be some big well-known singer and her name means absolutely nothing to me.  I WANT my old VH-1 back so I at least can say I've heard of someone - you know - when they used to show music videos?   Do music videos still exist?

I'm currently reading the sequel (Bound and Dangerous) to the following story, which to be honest isn't very much as it's described since you don't actually see any of the mafia/bdsm stuff (as far as I remember). It's only in the background. To be honest, I'm recc'ing it because it was so light. Two of my favorite all-time twifics are Carano's Grand Trilogy and SexyLexiCullen's Storm series, so I'm all on board for the heavier mobward fics. This one was quite light, but I enjoyed it enough that I started reading the sequel even though it's a WIP, and I don't really read those.

A Mafia/BDSM story. A Don who is a Dom; two powerful personalities bound together in one body. Will it be too much for one woman to handle, or is she exactly what is needed to balance this man.

Another lighter mobward that I really enjoyed, especially because of the children in it, was This Thing of Ours. I recommend this too.

This Thing Of Ours
By: WeeKittyAndTAT 
This is a story of a tough as nails, Bella, who can bring a mob boss, Edward, to his knees, but in all the right ways. What happens when these two strong personalities collide in more than one way? Content edited version will post on ffn, non-content edited versions will post on twcs and ficpad. AH/Rated M, completely out of character.

I already know "Bound to the family" and I didn't like it. I think this sequel don't match the first fanfiction (Bound and Dangerous), so I stop my reading for this FF.

I also already read "This thing of ours".
