Hi all,
I'm back after not being online for the first time in a fortnight. I was rushed to hospital last Monday after being ill for over week, I'd passed out as I was in so much pain and it turned out that my appendix had ruptured so I ended up having emergency surgery.
I was hoping to come home after 2 days of being in there, but had a reaction to the pain meds and antibiotics so ended up staying in until Tuesday. 
I'm still in quite a bit of pain and stuck on antibiotics for another 6 weeks, but otherwise I'm all good.

I hope y'all well. 

Wow, a ruptured appendix! Sounds scary and painful.    Praying for your speedy recovery.

I think I looked once.  But the last time was when I couldn't read anything but Twifics.  I am slowly looking at stories that don't have E&B as the main characters, but it is difficult!

Edward is a British music major at NYU and works as a bartender a few nights a week.  Bella has just arrived from New Orleans and is looking for a music related job (she has a music degree from Tulane)  It is very funny at times.  The only problem I'm having is the duplication of stuff.  There are 2 authors who wrote this, one did Edward's part, the other Bella.  They also did real time tweets, supposedly from the characters.  Then there are the diary entries.  So you get the tweets, which are cute, Edward's diary, I mean journal, version of events and Bella's diary of events.  lots of duplication. Especially of the lemons.  And there are 403 mostly short chapters.

My phone keeps dying because I can't read it on my Kindle.  You have to start at the bottom of the twitter feed.  They just cut and pasted it into the story.  Sigh.  I'm still reading though.....  There is a lot of funny drunk tweeting....

Sorry to hear you've been ill and glad to hear that you're on the mend. I was wondering where you were. I hope you get well soon.

Hello everyone hope all is well.  Good to be back life is starting to settle down a bit.  I finally started reading again thank goodness.  I just finished up EP  omg i loved it.  Does anyone have the copy of MOTU that the outtakes and epi in one document.  Someone sent it to me but I cant find it.

Last Monday I had a horrible reaction to something I ate (I'm a vegetarian and I strongly believe that there was meat or at least the vegetables were cooked with meat in my burrito) and it took a while for me to recover, so I briefly wondered if my appendix could have been affected, but I don't think it was.  I am finally off my diet of white rice and bread (what I had for my 10th anniversary dinner).

Ugh. I sympathize and had a similar experience. I don't eat mammals and haven't since I was in college (22 years ago). Several years ago I was traveling in northern Italy and wound up in a very remote and very small mountain village accessible only by cable car and hiking. (And snowmobile, but it had melted when I was there off-season). Suffice it to say they only had one restaurant open and the menu was whatever they had available. So, ram it was. I was in the bathroom all night and wiped out for days. No one else got sick so I think it was just my inability to digest it. It felt similar to actual food poisoning. I've never made the "When in Rome" food mistake again.

Oh man!! Glad to hear they figured out what was wrong and you are on the mend.

That is kind of interesting that you would have such a strong reaction to meat.  Humans are omnivores, so they should be able to digest anything edible, except if you have an allergy.  Sorry it happened though....

This was on twcs just two weeks ago, but I see it's gone now. I'll upload it over on the search thread.

I have been a vegetarian for almost 20 years and I have had small reactions to dishes made with animal fat in the past, but this was a very severe reaction, so maybe there was something else in the burrito that I am allergic to and have never had before?  Luckily the restaurant was only a block away from our house and my husband wasn't on a business trip so he could take care of getting the kids in bed.  Needless to say, I won't be visiting that restaurant again, which is too bad because my cocktail was very yummy.

It could be something they feed the animals that make up the meat.  I find I get a mixed reaction to chicken.  Sometimes I have no problem with it and other times I get digestion issues.  Same with eggs.  I am allergic to some antibiotics.  That's the only thing I can figure out.  I don't have problems with beef though.

Someone somewhere mentioned reading C.P. Smith so i got her Reason series. The first book, in my sarcastic/skeptic frame of mind, felt "she tried but she ain't no KA". Nevertheless, if i stop comparing and being a cynical biyatch while reading, i realized I did enjoy her book/writing. The last 2 i felt was better than the first which prompted me to look for her other books. I do love my alpha male/insta love fantasies so i really enjoyed the last 3 books of her i read.

Then Vi Keeland's new book was mentioned by Eacalltheway. Have never read her so read her GRs profile. She mentioned loving Sophie Ward and checked her out too. One of her books had high ratings and i recalled our stepbrother phase and searched comments here:

So i read "Stepbrother Dearest", it was awesome!  Thanks, Loopy! Prick, Tool and now SD was definitely worth it!

Sometimes when you can't remember shite, you don't know what to read next and randomly scroll through stuff, you find a gem and other wonderful writers out there worth your time. Thanks again to all those who give recs, comments and sharing their sentiments here and in GR. It expands and enriches my world. 

HEY HEY!!!! WOW... It's been forever since I've posted!! How the heck is everyone!??!?! My phone died in May, and then my kids started summer, and then I started a new business on top of my regular job, and joined the PTA, and I just kind of want to throw myself in a dark hole and climb back out in two months. *ahahahahaha...!!

I've missed you all so much!! Still reading FanFic like a mad woman - I need to get organized again because I haven't been keeping my Calibre updated.

What's been going on?? I hope you all are well!!
