Thread #5 - We are crazy talkers here! Join in the fun!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

OMG, demaris hun you got me hooked on what other hot pics I can find of Fassy instead of the hubby showing me how to make omelette (which we all know I'll never learn as long as he keeps cooking stuff for me  :P)   :o :D
I think this might be as hot as Fassy on a bike, if not hotter.  :-* :-*

I think I might have to talk the hubby into making another baby after seeing this.  :D :D

Overies?  I think my ' secret cradle' just exploded! What film is that?  Fassy is the Dan Dada as my young cousins would say...

Forgot to share, these 2 pics were "gifts" to me by 2 nieces, they posted it on my real FB wall ;D

Well, my nieces, sister, cousin and I share our extreme like for Christian Gray. Though I never heard of Jamie Dornan before this, so far, the stills show he is hot too.

Looking forward to the movie!  >:D

Did they have to 'bronze' his hair? He's actually kinda hot...and 'Grey-like'; he might just pull it off, but I'm still going to wait for the DVD *coughonlinedownloadcough* of the film. :D

I was thinking last night, and are there any Twi-stories that are vamp stories, but throw out all the little odd things that SMeyer did to her vamps? For instance, the sparkles, the cold, marble skin, the screeching sound when they are torn apart. Even better, has an author ever not only NOT used those things, but made fun of them in some way?

I know that one, where Edward was British and drank tea (sorry, the name is escaping me ATM) made the vamps somewhat different, but I don't remember HOW different.

OMG This story is so ridiculous. I've searched and saw it mentioned a couple times on here, but it's like some drawn out soap opera told from the eyes of the other woman. Angela is also another character I often seen paired with Cheaterward and it's totally cliched with the whole Pastor's Daughter giving it to her best friends boyfriend. It's a drabble and really annoying to keep clicking over and over but I feel like it was written on someones break at work with so much emphasis on the angst. PLOT TWIST: this whole affair goes down when they're in high school so I kind of had to roll my eyes at the overall tone of the story. It skips ahead 8 years and you're just supposed to be in a different mindset over personal growth and not remembering that the author wrote some really shitty people that only think of themselves because they're teenagers with raging hormones and no sense of respect for others. There were also some outtakes posted that were supposed to elaborate on these characters and I just had to sympathy at all and saw this review left by one of my all time favorite authors. I miss her.

But I was elated with the ending because

Lies. Betrayal. Pain. A story of finally getting what you want and hurting everyone in the process. AH, ExB, ExA, AxBen. M for language and lemons.

on another note, Edward's secret child stories are my guilty pleasure. Basically any story where Edward knocks up Bella is great with me, but I love the secret aspect BUT ONLY IN FICTION because if it were real life and someone kept their child a secret for years to preserve their feelings, instead of their child, it's just really shady and not fair to the child or missing parent. With that said, I was reading some story where Bella is wanting a baby so she starts sleeping with Edward without the use of any contraceptives. It got me thinking about how I'd never read any good story where Bella has a baby that Edward wants nothing to do with the child. I think I found one!

Looking Back

She knew when she met him she wouldn't be able to deny him anything. Is that how she ended up pregnant at 16 and left to handle it alone? Bella raises her daughter with the help of her family... but what about the person who matters most?
Rated: Fiction M - English - Romance/Angst - Bella, Edward - Chapters: 22 - Words: 70,057 - Reviews: 1,002 - Favs: 743 - Follows: 1,373 - Updated: Mar 28 - Published: Jan 25, 2012 - id: 7774430

Still a work in progress, so it's something I never would have found if it wasn't recc'd on The Lemonade Stand. I really like the pacing and how realistic it seems to be. It's told mostly in the present but there are scenes leading up to the pregnancy and the aftermath. Sometimes that annoys me, but this time it's done in a way that's not a bore to get through, because you already know what's happened and you're not being led up to the present. Realistically, there are a ton of teenagers that would not be able to handle having a child at 18, so they flee. That's just what Edward did in this story and I really like that Bella doesn't seem to welcome him back with open arms the minute they reunite. He has a lot to make up for and she's making him work for it.

Ugh I'm reading Objects In Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear by TheFicChick and really wish I didn't. I usually love her stories but this is a WIP that reminds me of another story I just read, My Manic and I by the.littlest.ingenue.

Okay I have a confession I have a bit of a LB for Jamie atm.
When he was cast as CG I didn't really get the appeal, but the hubby's been making me watch "The Fall" and I now totally get it. Make him grow a beard, play a really intense serial killer that washes and poses his victims naked after he's killed them and I wanna be his next "victim"  :o ^-^ ;) :D
Oh and don't forget the Irish accent *sigh*
He's pretty funny as well, after watching him on Graham Norton the other week - I couldn't stop laughing and it was a bonus that Aaron Paul *drool* and my 2 fave Geordies (after my hubby of course  ;)) Ant & Dec were on there as well.

What does PMSL stand for too?

but I thought against it, doesn't matter now that I've posted it.  :D :D

No one really knows for sure why their called Geordies but one of theories is:
that the name was taken from George (Geordie) Stephenson, the mining and railway engineer who hailed from the north-east.
The North-East is where Newcastle is (obviously or otherwise this theory would just be weird  :D)

Someone else on here might know more than me (which isn't a hard thing to do) about it and clue us all in. I've asked the hubby but he just says Google it - so he's really not a lot of help.  :P >:( :D

Personally I like this explanation "...in the eighteenth century the townsfolk of Newcastle sided with George I against the Scottish Jacobite Rebels, thus being called ‘Geordies’; this is the view favoured by the University of Newcastle."
Better than all that stuff about 'coal miners' which I think is just traditionally Londoners way of sneering at anyone who lives North of Watford.. :P

Hey hun, a couple of things.  We don't request copies of stories here.  Those requests belong on the 152 thread.  The story you want has been uploaded to PTS, but since it was done in April, it's not on the Index yet.  When you search for Twilight stories, you need to do a search on the 152 thread in addition to checking the Index.  The Index will never have uploads from the current month on it since I update monthly at the end of the month.

Here's the link to My Manic and I by the.littlest.ingenue: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
Please search before requesting or posting.  Check the You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login for uploaded Twilight fanfiction.
