ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW! 

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement. 

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Hey everyone *waves* I love TwiFics and need some more to read not to much angst and lots of lemons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Love E and B stories and feeling the need for some nice fluffy stories but I will try anything...... Thanks to all the great uploads of pulled fics as I now have them on my kindle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ladies
I'm wondering, how do you decide what to read on your TBR list? I know I had a system before taking my hiatus, but for the life of me I can't seen to get my head around how I managed to collect soooooo many damn stories and how I went about picking one to read.  In the last week I've just picked ones I've read mention on here, like Gentleman, (which, btw, I didn't think was more than a 2.5* at best,) and that I already had on the list and started reading..put I have to be more proactive than that if I am ever going to make head way...I remember PK decided, on her break from teaching, to just go through them alphabetically, does anyone else find that that works for them?  Give me some tips, my Fan Fiction Sisters!

PS. I don't mean storage, Calibre has me covered on that front very nicely...

The bad thing about this system is I add tons of new stuff to the TBR all the time, and older stuff gets pushed down and forgotten, unless someone mentions it and reminds me of it.. I pull stuff thinking "hey, that sounds good!", but if I don't start it within a day or two, I either forget why I pulled it, or forget about it altogether.

I do the same thing. Except lately, I add PTS members' comments to the front of my file for future reference. When I save the file, it gets pushed to the top. That's why I went to the bottom of my TBR last week to see what had been forgotten and found all these gems that I asked about input on. Basically, no real system.

I do the same thing Matron.  It gets annoying some times.  The ones I really want to read I will flagfic to my kindle from work but also upload it to Calibre when i get home.

You are in the exact same position as me. Rec=add =more stories=no headway in shortening the list....Right now I'm reading Safe Haven by Icy it's been on my TBR list for an age!

This is me as well. I usually download everything & then put stuff I want to read on my kindle.  Only most of the time I totally forget why it looked so interesting.  Then I add more stuff. And go read an old favorite.  Sigh.

I don't really recommend my system.  ;)

 Hun, you seriously have to adopt me - I know I'm 30 but I'm house trained!!  :P :D
If this swings the deal - I know all the boys in Mumford & Sons, I even went to Marcus and Carey's wedding.  :)

Loopy, I really posted that picture for you. 

While I am old enough to have a 30 year old daughter (if I started young [but still older than you started]), I think it would be a little strange to have a granddaughter older than my middle child (he won't be 15 til next week). 

Just a couple of other arguments against - your mother might object and since we live in different countries, it would be hard for me to take you to concerts with me.  Darn! I knew I should have gone to the Glastonbury music festival to see the Rolling Stones!  You would've gone with me, right?

Having said that, we can have a less official relationship, if you like.  Even without adopting you I spend time worrying about your health and safety.  As in, are you keeping yourself and your little life-in-being healthy, and are you staying safe and out of jail?

Now, feel free to introduce me to Mumford & Sons.  Do you think they know the boys in Maroon 5 and would they get us an introduction?

You are in the exact same position as me. Rec=add =more stories=no headway in shortening the list....Right now I'm reading Safe Haven by Icy it's been on my TBR list for an age!
You will have to tell me how you like that one.  I think I started to read it but it wasn't really catching me.  and then I stupidly looked at the end.  Turns out there is a mystery involved.  So I kind of ruined it.   :banghead:

Yep! I do the same. I'll be in a certain mood, and put everything I can find that fits that mood on my tablet. But after a day or two, that mood shifts, and I'm now stuck with all these stories on there, when what I really want is THOSE stories!

I'm on page 27 of 143 so early days yet I'll let you know how I get on.....It's well written but, hey, it's Icy, she's hardly gonna write a complete bust, but as I'm not a huge fan of FSOG I was hoping this one will redeem her, though not much can be done about her attitude...

BTW is anyone following kharizzmatik's Hide and Seek? Can't wait for that fic to complete!! I've read a few chapters and she's on form, that one...might, just might, take over from my Dusty worship....Nah! Unlikely.
