BTW is anyone following kharizzmatik's Hide and Seek? Can't wait for that fic to complete!! I've read a few chapters and she's on form, that one...might, just might, take over from my Dusty worship....Nah! Unlikely.

I always wondered how much of her attitude came from those people who harass the P2P writers. I think most of her readers were really backing her and she had been very active and helpful to FF writers prior to publishing.  She also finished the story & left it up long enough for those reading it to finish.  None of this suggests she didn't like fanfic or the fanfic community.  This is why all the comments about her "attitude" really surprised me.  But, as I said, there are a lot of nasty people in the fanfic community.

Dusty is somewhere on my TBR. When I see you used 'worship' I imagine that you would you rec it? I don't remember how I heard about it.

I'm following about 50 WIPs but Hide and Seek is one of the few WIPs that I'm actually reading.  It is an amazing story so far.  I wish she would update every day because I really love this Edward and the storyline is great.  Bella, Garrett, Charlie-- they're all great characters!

See, I haven't read it and even I can tell you it's a questionable HEA. 

Well, part of the problem is she got dropped by FFnet, or should I say, MoTU was pulled  by FFnet. So Icy set up a blog to post MoTU. She updated regularly and only pulled when she got the publishing deal.  Even then, she kept the last few chapters up so people could finish & she finished the story.  So I don't really get upset with her.  Most of the publishers require the fanfiction to be pulled as it discourages people from buying the book.  I think what started the "hate" was the initial price of the book. It was pretty high, as it was a hardcover price for a paperback. 

I started reading at what would have been the middle of the second book.  So I waited for the weekly updates and we all twittered about it.  And it was all good. Except having to cut and paste to download a copy.

And she left up Safe Haven on FFnet for a while after 50 was published. I think she only pulled it when all the nastiness started.   And? I only really heard about it second-hand.  So I don't actually know what happened. I also never heard her complain about the copies of MoTU floating around. When this site had ebooks on it? They had a list of authors who requested not having their work posted.  She was listed as EL James, but nothing was said about Snowqueen's Icedragon.  And a lot of other P2P authors did have both names listed.

So, as I said, I really have nothing against Icy.

All the stuff I heard/read was about her suing ff authors for doing fanfics of her stories?! And slagging off the initial FF readers! Is that all bullshit?! Did I hear that? Or am I going crazy?! Please someone tell me they read/heard that too.....Whatever, this story (Safe Haven)  is not FSOG let me tell you...but I will persevere because I'm like my Lebanese lover,  I don't/can't/won't flounce 

I forgot to mention that there is a future-take of Dusty that's been written for Fandom for Leukaemia and Lymphoma; you never know, there may be a HEA to be had then, though I doubt it as it's only Teambella23 with no Yellowglue....yeah.
