Ladies, I have a confession.......I just bloody well couldn't help it! I blame Booked ( she recc'd it, I think). But, taking into consideration everything ever said about BR, if you're going to read one (KimKim) then this one tries to bring new elements to a hackneyed genre, it was bloody long though, almost a 1000 pages ( which for a BR is a saga) but it was a pretty good guilty pleasure...as such things go.... :57:

Yeah I don't think she writes any more so her 'books' are expensive.  I saw one on Amazon for $2000!! With an offer on it?!

Whitney My Love by Judith McNaught?  Seriously Demaris - try Amazon US - you can't go wrong for a penny for Hardcover or mass market paperback.   The highest price on there is a collectible for $56.

You can't buy from Amazon US if you live in the UK. But, yes you can get it for pretty cheap secondhand, but there are books by her that go for thousands of pounds   :o

I guess my question would be - how come I can buy a book (or a magazine - Rob being the main feature) from Amazon Uk and you can't do the reverse?

No idea. You can buy from US Marketplace sellers who sell on both sites but not Amazon US......

Yep that one but from a totally different angle. ;)

I know I've seen the picture (or at least one view of it) that Loopy is talking about but I have no idea where.  I do know we discussed it on the Twilighted Other forum under the Need to Escape thread at least 4 years ago.  Salvadore Dali had sexuality issues hence the picture of him standing in front of the mirror (did Loopy or I happen to mention this was in the movie Little Ashes?) with one vital piece of his anatomy missing (as KrisBCullen described it - he'd pushed said piece of anatomy to the side where it couldn't be seen in the mirror).  I still haven't picked up the damned DVD yet.   I'd kind of forgotten about it until Loopy brought it up.

See, i don't give you bad recs  :) :D

Judith McNaught has great books. but to have lesson plans and selling the books at ridiculous prices? yup, taking it too far.

I also love her contemporaries:

am a sucker for sequels/series with characters getting their own stories. Try these too!

i hope she writes again. Been waiting for her "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" for forever!

I love how P+P is only £2.80, for the price of the book I'd at least expect it to be hand delivered with security guarding it.  :P :P

Lol, I have a 4tb ext. HD to search through so it might take me a while but I know it's on there somewhere.  :D :D

I've decided to take a little break from reading fics as lately it seems that for every 10 I read only 1 (2 if I'm lucky) is any good.
So I've decided to read The Dollagangers series by V.C. Andrews - I started Flowers in the Attic last night and I've nearly finished it already. I wanted to read this series before watching the films which were on Lifetime last week.

WOW Flowers in the attic.  I remember those books, liked them back then but creeped me out a bit also .

These were movies as well... I think... A LONG time ago though. I remember reading these books when I was younger. I just barely remember the story, but remember how it creeped out!

I know Lifetime made some TV movies but I want to read the books before watching them as I think the films will probably skim over certain parts.
I think my Mum has a VHS (a what!?!  :D) of FitA somewhere but as far as I know she's never watched it.  :-\
