Hey everyone. I am back from holidays. It was a good time. I am trying to catch up, so I apologize if I am asking questions that have been answered, but, why do we not want to read this? From the story description, it sounds like it could be pretty good. Come on we need details....LOL

Having once said dariachenowith's brand of BDSM makes my eyes water, she is still a fine author, just read The Elusive Mr Cullen.  Anyway she has announced she will have an original work under the name Kira Barker published on 12 August.  Should be interesting

Hiya hun, Glad you had a good time on holiday.  :-*
Mrs Fassy put this about why we shouldn't read it.  :D

REFRAIN!  Even with the flouncing gene by the time you realise you should be, it'll be too late. Its one of those car crash fics (disguised as angst) where you just keep on reading because you can't look away, they lurch from one argument to another for no apparent reason and the bits in between are held together with lemons. And we've all had a Bella or two we want to punch, in this you not only want to punch her, you want her disembowelled; Edward too, to a less extend.

OMG, I might just have to watch X Factor this year on the off chance that Rob might come and watch his sister.  :) (while trying not to pull my ears off and poke my eyes out) You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Is FFDL in Calibre running slow for anyone else?  It was really quick yesterday and today it seems to be dragging.  :-\

Though maybe I'm trying to update too much at one time....  :D :D :D

Speaking of our man, i saw HP and the Goblet of Fire playing on the TV yesterday and i just had to watch it. It was only the second time i've seen it (never had the desire to see any of the HP films more than once). Now knowing Rob was there, i couldn't resist. *sigh* i recall i was really thinking how good looking he was then, daniel and the rest of the boys all paled in comparison. Was very disappointed cedric died. Had a great time rewatching it, well, bec the story of this one was good too with all those exciting challenges. But my eyes were really busy searching for him in all the scenes LOL. Loved hearing him speak with his accent

Have to admit, he really is more scrumptious now that he is older.  :)

From his Esquire feature:

Note: oh wow, forgot Rover came out and he went on a few shows to promote it! Trolled youtube and saw his gig with Seth meyers and Jimmy Kimmel. After the kimmel show he probably went to the premiere of the movie bec he was wearing the same blue suit. I like that he takes time to meet the fans, signs stuff and take pictures with them. Such a nice guy.  :)

I think that's about the only HP movie I've watched and liked and not just for our boy, cos like you say the story line isn't half bad either.  :)
I caught a bit of the Bad Mother's Handbook at the weekend and if I'm being totally honest I was a bit  :sign0137: :sign0137:. I think the awful hair didn't help matter either.  :D :D
But now I get a bit fangirly whenever I see him (embarrassing but true) , let's just say he's "grown into his looks".  ^-^ :D :D

This happens to me *every* time I see him... The amount of Rob pics on my laptop is pretty obscene.

CAN'T... STOP... DROOLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hubby actually made a comment awhile back "There are no pics of me on your screensaver, but a million of Rob".. Sorry babe! *ahahaah.. I do feel sorry for my non-twilight, non robsessed friends on my facebook page.. I have no shame! :D

Hahaha, I just wanted to point out the heavy UST in FTS, but then I saw you started to read already! Great choice! I devoured every word and it was the first fic after a long time where I didn't mind the length.
And I actually squealed and fangirled over the EPOV outtakes a few days ago. But I too think you should wait until you finished FTS until you read the EPOV outtakes. Makes the experience all the better.]
This might be the most UST ever in a fic!   LOL  >:D

One of the reviews on goodreads says that you should wait til you find FTS before reading the EPOV.

Will start this tomorrow (finished lexxie cooper's getting played. I rec the series!)
Hopefully by the time i finish FTS, a wonderful angel will post the EPOV in her google drive.  ^-^

Seeing Rob excited me, must force myself to sleep as it's 2am here and need to be up in less than 4 hours for work  :P

Rob did indeed go to the Rover premiere right after taping Jimmy Kimmel.  Robsessed and Robert Pattinson Life both have the transcript of the Esquire UK interview (Sept issue) where he talks about going off script on Kimmel.  Its prearranged the day before regarding what he and Kimmel are supposed to discuss.   He got nervous during the actual taping and threw everybody off when he started in with the comment and discussion about his heavy saliva.  He said Jimmy was looking at him like he was wondering what the hell he was doing.  After freaking Jimmy out, he started feeling his comfort zone and calmed down.  He was proud of himself.  The interview with Kimmel was shorter than usual and on this end we figured he had to keep it short so that he could get to the premiere.  I've seen Goblet of Fire once and that was to see Rob specifically.   I have seen The Bad Mother's Handbook on the Sundance Channel once back when I had the full cable package - my one problem was that I had a problem figuring out what everyone was saying.   I'd be sitting there and going "Wait - what did they just say?"  I was obviously having a problem with the accent.   I've also seen the Haunted Airman on cable - the edited version.   I've been told it would have made more sense with the scenes in.   Whether Rob goes to see Lizzie on X-Factor will of course depend on when she's on.   He's busy this fall shooting either Idol's Eye (which is filming in Chicago and Toronto) or Childhood of a Leader.  No one is being specific - it evidently depends on schedules on which one gets shot first.   and yeah I agree - he's definitely grown into his looks.  He just gets better looking every year.

It probably isn't listed as a completed story if I don't have it there.  Yup just checked. It doesn't show as complete.  Is it complete enough to change the rating?

Yep. They're just a series of out takes camoozle donated for fandom gives back. I think.

They're fun, because we get a glimpse of Edward as an adult who is clearly infatuated with the girl that's 19 hours away. I thing I love about For The Summer is that there's no drama present just to thicken the plot. It's such a nice coming of age story that spans into adulthood, and in the EPOV we get a glimpse of life for him when he's away from Bella outside of the marina. Most of the chapters in For a The Summer detail the interaction they have during summer break and you almost wonder what they get into for the rest of the year.

UGH it's just such a great story!!

And further from the post Loopy pointed out I'll add that neither character is particularly likeable, this story deals with adult themes but the protagonists come across as spoilt children; it's cringe worthy. Edward has no back-bone (and is a moron) and Bella is a prat (less of a surprise there); and it's back and forth and back and forth for no sensible reason apart from stringing out a pretty weak plot (actually, to be brutally honest it's not that the plot that's weak but the author's writing ability can't carry it off). I think she tried for a 'non standard' ending but then lost her bottle and so rounded the story out with a pathetic epi. You know when a film is :poo: and they put all the best bits in the trailer? Well the summary of this story is the equivalent. There, is that clearer?  :D

If there is one programme I wish they'd decommission it's X Factor. How is it that the US only had to stomach that  :poo: for, what was it? Two seasons? While we've had it on our screens since Adam was a boy?! :wtf: Loopy Girl was your lament for your soon to be sightless eyes a forewarning to Ms Pattinson's singing or XF in general?

By the time you finish the story you'll be happy with its ending.....It's a really great fic, and the author wrote a very good AN as to why she decided to write this and give it this ending, which when I read it I did a little victory dance and thought 'At last someone stuck their neck out!"  :P

Demaris - XF only lasted in the US for two years(I think it was actually 3 years - 1 yr with the original judges. year 2 had Brittney Spears, and yr 3 Brittney was replaced by Nicole Scherzinger) because it was getting lousy ratings.   I watched for awhile - mostly first season - but lost interest.  It was also up against The Big Bang Theory, the Vampire Diaries and something else that I can't remember on Thursdays which didn't help it any.    As for InDeath - Did you read Interlude finally?

Additional note:  Just came back from posting a news item on our TV Programming News thread and ran across a Simon Cowell story that I posted last week.   The following comes from Simon directly - the other show I couldn't remember that was on at the same time was The Voice which has since changed nights.

Quote
In contrast, he considers his U.S. version of "The X Factor" singing contest a victim of overcrowding, canceled by Fox after three seasons. Cowell said if he had it to do over again he would have insisted Fox choose between it or network sibling "American Idol."

"Having two shows and 'The Voice' (on NBC) running at the same time was way too much," he said. "If they had kept with 'X Factor' and had more confidence in it, the show would have done what it is in the U.K.," where it's a hit.
