This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general. But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Just finished Relative Wind by mac214. For those light and fluffy lovers, I highly recommend. Very, very low angst levels. Lemony. If you object to age differences, then don't read since that's what the little bit of drama is all about. Edward is 20 years older than Bella.

There might be one somewhere...on some other website. But Mr. A doesn't allow nudity on PTS. Didn't anyone tell you?

Ella - do you happen to know the score for the Patriots game? The Vikings bad luck continues - Matt Cassals broke his foot so he's out for awhile as Quarterback.

LOL! Sorry I got distracted when my team lost.

Then I switched to the Denver/Seattle game. That was hard for me. I dislike Denver but love Peyton Manning. So I didn't see the scores. We get different games on the west coast.

I just finished Age of Consent... did you guys like it? I seem to remember some of you raving about it but it fell flat for me. I ended up skimming the last few chapters.

I realized why I didn't ever finish it. I read the first chapter on ffnet - there are only 12 there. The rest are on A Different Forest. I read her Brown Study. It was a good story, well written, but just didn't leave me feeling happy, even though I think it was an HEA for Bella and Edward. The style of writing is a little depressing.

You may like it though, being the angst hoor you now are.

This always makes me laugh, beings how Edward is something like 92 years older than Bella in the original Twilight. So what's 20 years?

I think it's called Tumblr. If I remember correctly, RD Mickey had a great RP feed on her Tumblr account. I probably have a bookmark somewhere.

It's such a sweet pic, I'm happy that he's comfortable enough to hold hands in public and look relaxed and not like they're trying to hide anything.

As for age differences between Edward and Bella: for some reason it bothers me in AU-Human fics - she's 20 and he's 45 and its like he's robbing the cradle. It doesn't seem to matter to me if one of them is a vampire. Edward may have been 118 but there were times when Bella was more mature. I know - it doesn't make a whole lot of sense regarding AU-Human as opposed to AU - call me conflicted?

I just finished the All Souls Trilogy (A Discovery of Witches, Shadow of the Night and The Book of Life) by Deborah Harkness. Thank you to whoever recommended it a while ago.

I enjoyed the plot and the history behind the story and that the characters were older (not in the ancient vampire olderness, some were) just they were not all in their 20s. It was an interesting mixing of different supernatural creatures- witches, vampires and demons.

I would agree with some critics that it dragged at time (but I read the whole trilogy back to back) and that there were too many characters in the second book (reading an ebook, I didn't find the reference list of characters at the end, until I finished). I thought the writing got better as the trilogy went on, but there was enough action, things were not just handed to the characters and it didn't seem like tons of bad stuff happened to the characters just for the sake of the plot (just enough bad stuff).

I felt like there were several references in book 3 that were left unfinished, but it is listed as the final book of a trilogy, so we will see.

Unfortunately, since LA no longer has a football team, they think we want to watch San Diego. I would prefer the Bay Area teams. And well, going by all the stickers on cars and houses, they should show the Raiders and the Steelers. LOL!
