Thread #6 - We are crazy talkers here! Join in the fun!

ADULT DISCUSSION HERE, SO TRY TO KEEP IT CLEAN! UM NO, WAIT! IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED, LOOK AWAY NOW!

This is the new thread as the other was sooo long and had lots of pages. Continuation of our wonderful discussions on Twilight Fanfiction, Books, and Life in general.  But mostly Twilight fanfics... and life stuff that will get me a NOT ALLOWED statement.

Okay, here is a place to discuss what you are reading, ask for recommendations and complain about the writing.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, so please play nice

Because we know drypen's watching

I was just about to write that.  It ended well.  Um, hopeful?
I won't say much more.  Don't want to ruin it.   :-*

Well, if ever a story should get me back to reading Twifics this should be it, right? It's been on my Alerts since Adam was a boy... :P I'll start it over the weekend.

Have a heart ladies and submerge your enthusiasm under a spoiler! For those who don't know how to ( I noticed someone a couple of pages back that didn't ) it's that button 3rd from the right, on the 'reply' screen depicted with an Sp

  • Hi! I'm Ellachanted and I'm a fanfic-oholic.
I call myself an angst wimp. But really, it's just when one bad thing after another happens to the character - Bella normally - and not in a funny way, but like nasty bullies, then attacks, then parental abuse and rape all to the same character and it doesn't seem to get resolved other than Edward shows up and suddenly everything is rainbows and roses.  Yeah. Can't read. Annoyance is not a good angst emotion.  LOL!

However, Wisp would be considered angst.  And maybe because I read it as a WIP, it was good angst.  I would rec it for those who were waiting for it to complete .... read it ;)

Wisp ยป Edward wins more than he bargained for at what was supposed to be a friendly poker game. AH. Ysar made me my banner!
Twilight, M, English, Hurt/Comfort & Drama, chapters: 63, words: 325k+, favs: 4k+, follows: 6k+, updated: 34m ago published: Apr 22, 2012, Bella, Edward

And it's only 325K words!  There are also a couple outtkes and a future-take.  ;)

I'm following that too, is it now complete? Didn't know it was actorward....

I'm re-reading Knight as I decided against my better judgement to download Creed (Unfinished hero 2#) I say against my better judgement because I thought Knight (book) was rather blah, and I really didn't appreciate what he (Knight) did for a living...

I forgot just how crazy Knight (the man) is,
Sorry but you are not allowed to view spoiler contents.
As badass as Edward was in EP Knight is badass squared....But it does have some of the best lemons I've ever read, really f*cking steamy... :yea:

I need someone to talk me out of reading any more of Ginger Voight's (author of Groupie) books. Speak up don't be shy; I know this is going to be a bad idea but, I'm telling you, her books are Crack  :-[ This from her authors page:-

Techie question.

with Amazon cloud,  once a book is on the amazon side,  no matter which device/app/get kindle email address I use I can still retreive them right?  I have  2 kindle and 4 kindle apps on different devices and I am getting a new ipad,  so If i download another kindle app on the new Ipad I should still be able to get the books on amazon right?

Yes. I have fanfics out there that I emailed 3 Kindles ago when I first started reading fan fiction.  They are still there and can be downloaded on my iPad Kindle app if I so choose.  ;)

I never get this either.  What could be a nice cologne becomes a turn off because the odor makes me want to vomit.  On a positive note, if you don't like the person,  you can smell them coming and run and hide LOL!

And it's not just women. Men are actually worse for me.  Some male colognes are nauseous to start with. Ugh. My husband doesn't wear any cologne any more because of this. ;)

LOL I never thought of the plus side to them wearing to much cologne.  Yeah i have had my share of nausea inducing mens colognes also.  a small spritz in the air and I walk thru is is all I do in the morning.

It is so gross when you can actually taste it.  I have asthma (not even that bad asthma) and walking past some people who have bathed in cologne/perfume can send me into a coughing fit.

There is this one perfume.. I have no idea what the name of it is, but it must be popular b/c I smell it often on women of all ages. It literally makes me physically want to throw up! My nostrils want to literally close of their own accord! Its vile!!! And when I was pregnant, I would literally have to leave conversations or run b/c the smell was amplified!!

Strong perfumes give me a wicked headache, I'm very sensitive to smell but I *FLOVE* men's cologne!! It is drool worthy, and its not often I smell one I don't like. Men's cologne gets me hot and wanting to leg h*mp...  >:D >:D >:D
I'm weird :)

I have been saving ff from the Calibre to the Google Drive for Booked mostly.  So I've been grabbing from there for my ibooks.

OMG Ella!! I couldn't love you more!!!  :-* :-* I feel so honored!! And guilty for imposing!  :P

But please stop putting FF in your Google Drive if it's too much of a bother for you. I feel guilty you going through all that effort and i still haven't made any headway on my twifics. :-\ It's been months since i read one. I am mighty interested in that actorward about to finish though.  ^-^ I have also avoided starting Getting Blitzed as i find nolebucgrl's update sked too slow for my needs.

Demaris, thanks for the tip. I don't have a mac but some of my friends do.will warn them. Also, thanks for letting us know about The Groupie. I have moved it to my library "for deletion" next time i sync.

I am likewise bothered with Knight's work. Which is why i liked Creed better. Haven't finished the last two books as i try to "save" good ones from authors i know when i am in a reading slump.

I have learned to manage my hoarding habits. I now just get books from authors i know and like, as well as those recd by you gals (except for the angsty ones like TBH  :P). My numbers are not as many as some of you but calculating how long it will take me to finish just gives me anxiety. Maybe during the Christmas break i will finally sort through all in my library and delete those i will not ever likely read.

I just came from watching Mockingjay part 1 with my kids. It was good. Sad to see Philip Seymour Hoffman knowing it is his last film. Such a waste of talent. :'(

No! Don't delete it! Honestly, it's worth reading if only for the screen shouting....it's the ultimate guilty pleasure read and enjoyable in it's own unique way.
