Totally agree with you ladies on BDB. I read the first 5 or 7 and really enjoyed them, but heard about a later book that I knew I would hate, so I just stopped. And the telling part is that I only remember a few of the characters, so no big loss.

Now, if you ask about Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunters the response would be different!

Tricklem, my deepest sympathies to you and yours. I am so sorry for your loss.

I just jumped in here to drop off this. He's finally looking good to me!

P.S. the GQ interview is one strange read, but worth it when I found the strangest video at the end in which Rob leaves his hotel to get a hot dog. ;)

He looks really good in a lot of those clothes, but did they have to make his hair stick up in EVERY picture.  The hair style did nothing for me.

I agree.

Also, am I the only one that doesn't like the short sleeves on his suit jackets?  I know they're designer clothes, but they make it look like he had a growth spurt.

I'm quite certain that some designers just want people to talk about their clothes, not look good in them.

I read the first book in the BDB series.  It was okay.  I keep meaning to read more, but obviously, the first one wasn't so good that it drove me to read more, since I read the first one years ago and still haven't read any others.

I read part of the 1st. But this was also when I was almost exclusively reading YA/Teen. It was recommended by some as adult suggestion for what to read after twilight

I am almost all the way through Sookie Stackhouse series (i binge watched True blood, now binge reading the series), and think I want some more adult novels to alternate with my fanfic. (and I will also probably be looking up sookie/eric fanfic)

-- sorry for back to back post, I meant to edit my first one to add second quote. But alas, mom brain.

I kind of feel bad for him.  I think the video at the end probably explains it all. And it was funny.  He finally got his hot dog!  And the author is right.  He says weird things in order to deflect from people asking questions about him.  Because in a way, the weird stuff really has nothing to do with him. Other than maybe he spends too much time on the internet.   :D :D :D

Oh, wait, that could me be as well.   ^-^

They are probably samples.  When I did work as a fit model (a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away) they used to complain because my were too long by 2 inches for the size I was.  The sample sizes are usually made to fit a certain height, and Rob is kind of tall and lanky, so I'm sure he has to have the sleeves on his jackets made longer on a regular basis.  The pants are probably short too, but he wears boots and makes it look like it is because of the stance.

And they may have pins and clips in the back to make it look like it fits.

I can see that on a photo shoot, but he was making a tv appearance.  I just wrote it off to an odd style.

All this talk on BDB has made me think that I shouldn't push the series up my TBR list anytime soon, I'm not gonna tell my MIL this though as she'll just wear me down on the matter until I start them.  :D :D

Announcement per EdwardsEternal -

Hey people... little announcement.

Harvest Table, My Heart My Home, At the End of the Day and The Missing Ingredient will all be pulled on August 25th. So make a pdf or whatever you want. Do NOT share them in this group, and no - I will not provide pdf's to people.
You will see them all again - changed, lengthened, and improved at some point in the future.
Thanks for your time.

So, all of Dark Hunters was good?

Yes! You can read just the primary novels first if you want. They have a "collection thus far" epub with the first 20 novels or so. That was what I did, except ended up at the author's website after book 3 or so to get the chronological reading order with all the novellas and short stories. It's a really well crafted universe with a lot of subseries.

Lol, I know that feeling about being online all day it's a nice thought even though it's never gonna happen especially atm as the kids are on holiday and trying to entertain a 3 and 5yr old while having crappy weather is driving me nuts.  :banghead: My Grandson is great, thanks hun we got to see him in June when my daughter and b/f visited for the hubby's surprise 30th party (Urgh, I feel old  :P).

First four or five BDB books are awesomesauce, some of the best I've read in the genre. But then they kind of went off the rails. Some later books were better than others, but I finally gave up after the supposed "m/m" book was barely m/m. I only read that far to see their story and felt ripped off. I also hate Wards opinion on fanfic- she hates it and regularly has it removed from various sites.

You are right. I love the first four. I'm skimming thru the next set of four.....not sure I can finish them all. It's become such a chore reading her books ....and I really like the way she writes.
Onward to find my next great read.

I just ate 3 Tim tams and I'm sure I'm almost in a diabetic coma...lol

My 3 year old went back to "school" today!!! of course tomorrow is a public holiday (silly scheduling with our parent co-op kindergarten) and my 5 year old goes back next Wednesday!

I hate when schools do that, it happened to the kids before they started the holidays where they had a teachers training day on the Wednesday so there was no "school" for that day, but on the Thursday the pre-school was open again which made no sense as the holidays started on Friday. I was quite tempted not to the send the kids on Thursday, but we still have to pay whether they go or not.

Mine don't go back until 4th September and I'm gonna be a wreck as it's Saxon's first day at Primary School (or as Saxon calls it Big School  ::) :D), I know I've done this before but in my defense it was 14 years ago and I was the youngest Mum back then and now I'm the 2nd oldest Mum in his year.  :o
