Hey. Have been lucky enough to be the beta for an absolutely great WIP for a year now, one that's winding up soon; yet it's only just occurred to me that I can recommend it here! (Didn't say I was the smartest beta on the block. Better late than never, yes?)

Description: In a post-apocalyptic world where civilization barely survives, Edward has spent his whole life training to protect his society, his family, and the girl who has captured his heart.

Saw in SL this is written by hikingurl and that it is not yet complete at 30 chapters.

Any idea how soon she will finish this or how many chapters she intends this to be? I don't read WIPs but your glowing recommendation has caught my interest.

I added this in goodreads under my "want to read" to remind me to read it once it's complete. Thanks for the rec!

Oh, I am so glad you want to read this story - and excited for the adventure you have in store

Let me answer your concern very directly: there are 35 chapters outlined, with 2 epilogues to follow. I already have chap 31 to beta, and most of 32 is already written. The outlines for remaining writing are particular & clear.

As a reader, I'm also hesitant about WIPs, and absolutely understand your hesitance. As a beta, I can promise that I've never had a moment's concern about this author's determination & ability to deliver the completed goods; if anything, I'm often still doing a close edit on a chap while she's already working on the next two.

She can always speak for her own process herself, of course; but when you read it, you'll see just how much she's managed to subtly weave into whole cloth... and appreciate the care she's taken to get it right the first time.

Can you tell I'm really, really proud of her?

Who rec'd Craving an Ordinary Life by busybee37? OMG, the misused words are crazy in this thing. They are in Folks, WA. Some of them are so hilarious because they are so off from what they should be. But the story itself is actually pretty good. Even if you want to slap Edward upside the head just about every page for the first few chapters they are together. What an idiot. But I totally remembered when I saw Felix become Flexi. I totally remember reading that here. LOL!

I have a little over a 100 pages left, so almost done. Then I will have to find something new. $:-\$ Always the hard part, finding something I don't want to flounce before I even get to the second chapter.

I saw an article on The Lemonade Stand (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login) and there will be a new mobward story coming soon from this lady (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login).. from the summary it sounds like it will be good. I have no clue when she will start uploading it though.

I love mobward, so if you find any good ones, let me know

Oh this new story sounds promising! Thank you! As for recs, there is a WIP I'm reading called "until we taste the same" by LillianBroderick and if you like a more darker mobward, Danger in New York by cristinaN is really good and the sequel is still ongoing. Check them out! :)

When I was a kid, my Canadian mom would put out the Canadian flag for today. Then the American flag on the 4th. I wonder what happened to that flag.

Anyway, Happy Canada Day to our Canadian neighbors from the half Canadian American.

Bella already knew about Vampires and has her own power. It is good, but does have writing issues (grammar/spelling)

Bella is a time traveler. Sort of. She always ends up in something related to Edward. It is good. There is a bit of an angsty twist.

A Glimmer of Hope by Highland princess
Starts out with Bella having a 2 year old son named Anthony. Lots of flashbacks during the story to how she became a single parent in her early twenties. Edward is around 40 and owner of a large company where Bella used to work.

It was good, the SPaG isn't too bad. Mostly low angst.

Most of the ones I would recommend are the ones everyone has read.

Not sure how much I like Bella in this. She does grow up though. Edward is an older successful businessman who wants a wife for events and business dinners. A married man is taken more seriously. Bella just needs money to get through college. So they make a deal. Lots of drama and angst. Alice, Edward's sister, has been Bella's friend and doesn't take the marriage well.

That's about all I can remember. Unless you want ones about a 108 year old guy marrying an 18 year old Bella LOL! Though surprisingly he only looks about 17.

I'm not sure what dd/lg is.
