I have to give you

The London Bus Driver's Prayer

Our Farnham, who art in Hendon
Harrow be Thy name.
Thy Kingston come; thy Wimbledon,
In Erith as it is in Hendon.
Give us this day our daily Brent
And forgive us our Westminster
As we forgive those who Westminster against us.
And lead us not into Thames Ditton
But deliver us from Yeovil.
For Thine is the Kingston, the Purley and the Crawley,
For Esher and Esher.
Crouch End.

Some more from around Britain... please add anymore from anywhere else

In Sheffield you can get a bus the destination of which is Halfway.

In the West Midlands buses go to, or via, New Invention, Fighting Cocks, California and Londonderry.

Southern Vectis on the Isle of Wight have both a 'Middle of Nowhere' and a 'Back of Beyond'

In Spain we have some really fun ones, but they lose all meaning in translation, and then, we have ¨urban poets¨who keep changing metro station names , but the plate and everything...
and in Rome you can find altered  traffic signs  made the same way

Do you notice how you only focus on that one star? I think it's because it shines with all its might, even on its last night.

You soon have a wider audience  ;D, according to the BBC News at 1pm today.  Spanish is becoming more popular in Schools than French.

Perhaps it is due to the native speakers.  According to a commentator "If you try to speak less than perfect French in France they treat you with contempt but if you try very bad Spanish in Spain they praise you"

Well I think like Admiral Byng, we should shot one from time to time to encourage the others  >:D

Byng's execution was satirized by Voltaire in his novel Candide. In Portsmouth, Candide witnesses the execution of an officer by firing squad; and is told that "in this country, it is good to kill an admiral from time to time, in order to encourage the others" (Dans ce pays-ci, il est bon de tuer de temps en temps un amiral pour encourager les autres).

By the way, would it be even more annoying to people in Spain, if the British still held Minorca as well as Gibraltar?  >:D

Spotted this in "The Oxford Book of Humourous Prose"

"Surveyor Willmott's habit of punning was responsible for some quaint names.  He is said to have named such places as 'Katamatite' (because an earlier settler driving home drunk kept asking his wife "Kate, am I tight"); Miepoll (after a police magistrate who had a habit of saying "My Poll says this... " and "My Poll says this..."); he might even have been responsible for naming Bandiana after a bandy-legged lubra [aboriginal woman] named Anna"

A man after my own heart Princess Pebbles  :D
