Ubuntu.  You asked what I would choose.  How can I argue with a Free OS that lets me spend as much as I want on a computer instead of paying for a crappy OS like Windows?

If I had to choose between a Mac and a Windows it would be the Mac because they are the better built with a stronger OS that is better written.

Windows is a business computer and it  still is.  The basis is letters.   That is why it has a hard time with graphics and strains at them.    Mac was a graphics computer.   It doesn't see letters as letters, it seems them as pictures.  It handles graphics much better and clearer.  Windows works harder to do less.  It's not that great of an OS.  That's why the joke is "If Bill Gates had a dime for ever time Windows crashed he would be a.... Never mind, he did [have a dime for every time windows crashed]"

Why Windows is more popular than Mac was a simple matter of Business.  Gates Licensed his system.  Job, in one of the few stupid things he ever did, did not.    Only Mac can build a Mac.  There are no clones.  There are Windows Clones all over the place.  My HP is a Windows Clone.   Gates figured on making his money exactly the way he did and it worked.   And Mac fell behind because they kept the prices high.   If an inefficient system priced dirt cheap will do the job for a lot less than the most efficient system priced accordingly, you buy the inefficient because it still does the job.

The better computer is the Mac.  The cheaper computer is the Windows.

Your choice.

Note you can run windows programs under Mac now.  I'm not exactly sure what it is called on the Mac.  I know in Ubuntu it is called Wine.

And yes it will take a bit to adjust to the differences and there are some but over all it is a more stable, more solid computer and worth the learning curve.  And if you used Windows there isn't that much of a difference.

I've used both and while I believe that MacOS is the far superior OS to Windows due to the fact that the registry is an locked.  I am more enclined to Windows based system, particularly Windows XP due to the fact it's a very stable OS.  Sure when it was first released there were problems up the wazoo, but after Service Pack 2 everything started to work better.

The only thing I have against Macs is that they are way overpriced when compared to their Windows based counterparts.  I can actually build a Mac equivalent for a fraction of the price, and it will run just a smoothly as over the counter Mac.

Are you poor? Buy PC

I'm an unemployed network engineer.  I prefer PC over Mac.  I like Linux and Windows OS.  I HATE MAC!  I can build a PC from scratch for the minimal amount of money and would run fast then any Mac.   Also, any Windows or Linus OS have more applications then Mac, any day.

For Multimedia, PC is best over MAC.  I had to do 3D Modeling and we would "Farm" pc's for processing power and rendering.  You can't do that with a Mac.  Farming, is using all the resources of all the pc's in one place.

However, saying this, always buy a FULL processor (not of the Icore 3, Icore 5 business and no celeron.. they low end and bullshit and NEVER AMD's as they never resolved the communication of the North And South bridge on the processor) and max out on the RAM and the best graphics card.  So, currently, Icore 7 Version 5, 32gigs of RAM, if possible, more..., 6 gigs or more (bigger the better) graphics card.. not integrated with the motherboard.  I have a tendency for gigabyte motherboards.

So, Pc Pentium CPU all the way.  ;)  Sorry to get technical all on you ;)

Cheers!  :-* :-* :-*

I appreciate the technical input!  Give me software any day and I'll figure it out.  Try to load my mind full of hardware ---- well hey, it's full of mining stuff, no way can PC hardware fit in there too... my RAM is only so big, and can't be upgraded at this present time! lol

Must ask you Bozana, where do you live?  Are you South African by any chance?

Well, a lot of Serbs did settle in South Africa. I do believe we have a few Serbian Orthodox Churches there too.

I was told that it meant to cute and cuddly... and my Aunt Nevenka AKA Nena, gave me this nickname when I was 18yrs old and I was trying on her fur coat with the real moscow fur hat with it. I was told that you only get this nickname if they are a affectionate and cute and cuddly person... But my Aunt could be wrong.  Rarely the name or nickname Boki is given to a girl/women in Serbia... because it's ends with an i... all girl's/women's names end with an a.

Darling in Serbian is ljubimac or Drag/o/a or duša or miljenik.

Cheers!  :-* :-* :-*
