Hullo! :-)
« on: August 09, 2012, 09:29 PM »
Hi Guys!! I am 28, live near Washington, DC. I have been reading since I was 5, and thankfully married a man who LOVES to read, even more than I do sometimes. :-D

My favorite genres have always been Christian modern drama, some historical fiction, and some fantasy. I am definitely widening my horizons these days though! :)

My favorite authors are Jodi Picoult, Karen Kingsbury, Tamora Pierce, and many others.

My favorite book of all time is Bamboo & Lace :)
Kinky Frackery is my middle name! ;-)

Hi yourself "Young Lady"!!!  Nice to meet you!! I'm Jennece.........uh, guess you figured that out!! Lucky you! You have a hubby that doesn't give  you the evil eye for over reading!! Can you even do that???? Hmmmmmm, I don't think so! LOL  I love Christian Fiction too!!  I like to read the Amish genre quite a bit. Also like the books that give you a surprise at the end. Mindy Starnes Clark, she good at that. Have you read her?

Edit: OOO, you know drypen's daughter!!  Oh, and my brother lives "near" D.C. in Odenton Maryland. He works for the NSA (he's all secretive)

My Man is way more often the recipient of the evil eye... I love to read and I love that he loves to read, but sometimes I'd like to live life too. ;-)

and Drypen, I love your enthusiasm! :D

I am currently reading more "scandalous" books. :)

I have never heard of Mindy Starnes Clark.  My faves are umm...well, I always forget their names. *laugh* The lady who wrote about the girls who would run the restaurants along the railroad in the West? *laugh* I am so specific I know... I love her writing. Francine Rivers is really good - I really cannot get into anything that is supposed to be set before the 1800's. :-p

You would be talking about Tracie Peterson. She wrote about the Harvey Girls. I have read those. I liked them. They had a little bit of mystery and I thought it very interesting that they were based on true stories. They were the first fast food restaurants!!   Love Francine River books too!! Her Mark of the Lion series it the best!! Wow, they take place in Rome and really pull you in. When the Christians were persecuted and thrown into the arena with the lions (thus the title of the series). She also has some great modern day novels too!

Haha... My HUSBAND has read all of the Anita Blake (And Meredith Gentry) books - I didn't even get past the first chapter or two. But he bought me the first book for Christmas (in paperback) and he owns every book in epub, so someday I might get to them. :-)

I am on Redemption in the Rock Chick series, and in the past week I have read:

Slave & Need (finished Need last night)
Bared to You
Every book written in the Shadowlands series (Cherise Sinclair)
Master of the Mountain (reading the 2nd book and the 2 Doms of Dark Haven this weekend)
The Reluctant Dom
I recently read KA's Knight, and what started this entire path was the 50 Shades trilogy which I read twice over a week and a half. The first time in like 2 or 3 days. And the second like a week. :)

My Man has asked me starting Monday to take at least a week off of BDSM books or even all erotica. ;-) He is going to do th same. We are both having freaky dreams and he said that he feels like we are having a hard time seeing what works for US and what we wish worked for us. ;-) So, starting Monday I'll be doing other books. Rock Chicks don't count. :-) I will not though that except for Knight, MotM, and Slave/Need he has read every one of the books I have only he did it in the past 3 days. :) I think he might be reading Slave and Need today/tomorrow, but I am not sure. :)

Lexie - My husband surprises me every day! :-) Lest I make him sound to "pansy" his other favorites (Anita is one of his faves :)) are John Ringo, David Weber, Ender's Game series, umm... he likes sci fi a lot, but yeah... he enjoys romance and sex scenes. We watch Bones and he was like cheering when they FINALLY kissed and slept together and...yeah. I love being married to My Man! :)

He doesn't like "drama" in his movies or books. I mean drama like... the genre not the activity. :)
