A project report on : VPN Implementatin Over Reliance Wireless Intelligent Network
It has been noticed that enterprises usually have bulk of their communication between their own employees. There are several instances where the employees need to be in constant touch with their offices, which may be spread all over the country. These frequent and internal communication needs can draw up heavy expenses for the enterprises by way of reimbursement or phone bills otherwise.
Most of the corporate offices today opt for EPABX as a solution to their internal communication requirements. But then again, the EPABX cannot provide mobility (access restricted to a few kilometres), besides being expensive to install. Sensing this vacuum between the demand of the corporate and the solutions in supply, Reliance Infocomm proposes to launch the Virtual Private Network (VPN) service on its Intelligent Network (IN) platform.
This report deals with the study of VPN as a product, comparing its features and performances to the various alternatives available today in the market. Further, it examines the implementation of VPN over the existing IN infrastructure of Reliance. The engineering aspects regarding the different call scenarios in the VPN environment have been considered.
Finally, the amendments that are necessary at the various network elements of the Intelligent Network platform currently functional for the Reliance Infocomm Prepaid service, in order to make them adaptable to support VPN service have been recommended.
