That's the price for a branded contact SGS4, with a set date contract.  Geri was talking about getting a unlocked, SIM free SGS4.

No more contracts for us.

Just have to suffer without the latest cellphones, because I can't dish out that much money for it.

You could always get the SGSIII, since the release of the SGS4 was announced the price of the SGSIII has dropped dramatically on amazon.

What do you think the best no-contract plan out there (USA)?  voice and data coverage?

I have Boost Mobile and it is so so.  It's on the Sprint coverage.  (so is Virgin mobile and Cricket)

Thanks in advance.

Best I have used ATT pay as you go.  It's $2 a day for the days I USE the phone.  I don't get charged when I don't.  I do have to add time.  It's a $100 for a years service so you don't have to buy more time for that year if you don't use the 100.  The plan goes as low as $10 refills for 30 days service.  I usually add an extra 25 dollars which gives me 3 extra months if I need more.

It also covers data.

For that $2 a day, I can call anywhere in the USA.  They have international time if you need to buy that but I don't.  So I can make 45 calls in a day or I can make 1 call for 3 hours to Texas from PA... It's all 2 bucks.  I connected my Google voice to it so it lets me get my google voice calls and my google text and voice mail at the same time.

I had so much problems with contracts with every phone I had, I hated all of them.  I love the pay as you go.  No fuss, no worries, dirt cheap and unlimited talking for that day esp if my wife was in the hospital and I had a lot of family to call and update.   Plus if I needed more time, I could go online or simply walk into the 7-11 and buy a card then enter the pin... poof more time.

What about their data?  reliable? cost?

thank you for all the info, but I looked at the plans and the phones and they don't work for me  :P

I use data a lot. I don't have wi-fi plan for outside so I use my 3G/4G a lot.

I use it for internet and for texting.

With Boost, it's $55 per month unlimited voice/text/data.  Every 6 months it goes down $5 until you hit $40 (approx 18 months I guess). You pay full price for phones but you get decent phones. Like I stated before the only problem is that it's on the Sprint coverage and that is not great.  Just OK.

Yes, the Samsung Galaxy S4 is at present the best cellphone at the moment.  Just be sure to purchase the GT-I9500, Exynos 5 Octa Chipset model as I've read that it offer far superior performance to the GT-I9505, Snapdragon 600 Quad Core Chipset model.

What Do you say about HTC One?
I heard it's pretty good too.

Well, it all depends on your personal preferences really.  If you are a HTC fan, don't mind being stuck with 32GB worth of storage and a non user replacable battery.  It's a pretty good phone, the only thing that I find attractive about it is the aluminum body.  Otherwise the overall performance is slight above that of the LG Nexus 4, that of the Sony Xperia Z and Xperia SP.  However both Exynos and Snapdragon Chipset models of the Samsung Galaxy S4 leave the HTC One trailing in their wake.

At the end of the day both companies put out good products.  The major differences is in the hardware used in their product designs and the firmware.

HTC cellphones use more or less the basic vanilla release of the android OS released by Google with a slight tweek with the addition of HTC's Sense software.

Samsung cellphones have the addition of their own TouchWiz interface along with a bunch of other extras such as their own version of the Google Play Store, Reader Hub, Games Hub and Music Hub.  In the newer releases of their version of the android OS Samsung has also had a entire boat load of other features for use with their devices such as motion tracker and eye tracker.

That's actually a pretty good phone.  Interms of performance it's just beats my Samsung Galaxy SII and my little sister's Galaxy Note.  However once we upgrade our firmware from ICS to Jelly Bean the performance ratings will probably be about the same as that of the Galaxy Grand.

What did you do the thing?!?!  ???  Drop on a rock with the screen facing down!

Sounds like you may have broke the protective layer of glass on your eReader, you could probably replace it with a screen protector, which you can find at your local electronics store.  You may have to cut it to size to fit the screen.  I would remove all the pieces of broken glass or plastic from your reader before applying the screen protector.

Thanks for the confirmation, arvah.  :)

Since we still on the subject of the Galaxy Grand, do you happen to have any problems with regards to the Dual SIM function aspect of the phone?  I heard that allot of people have problems with multiple SIM phones.
