does anyone have the wii u?
« on: May 31, 2013, 08:13 AM »

I'm trying to decide if I want to go pick one up - I waited since I thought we had to make another move, but we don't and now I can go get it

- just wanted everyone's opinion...

According to my basement dwelling 17 year old son, the console is enjoyable but there are only a few games released primarily for the wii U.
Wii games play on it and my other child uses it for net flix.
Monster hunter is really good according to the basement dweller.
So depending on the age group that you are buying for....is there games for it. That's what he says.

Does this help any??
Can I just win the lottery so that my only decision in my life will be which book to read today? Please?

Sometimes I press the thank you button, just because someone else chose to share here with us.

It helps - thanks.

I'm buying for me, I've had all of them from the Original N.E.S on. I haven't bought anything other than the nes for a year or so (last was X Box replacement), but I can't let this one get by.
The ONLY reason I haven't picked it up is I was worried about a big move and losing it like we lost a lot of our stuff coming here. My nes systems are like children to me and would be GUTTED if I lost it *sniff*
And I'm happy to hear I can play my wii games.

I'm also curious about whether the dweller likes the controller - because it looks awful big to me, but certainly isn't a thing.

My boyfriend just bought one and he is really liking it so far. He bought the more expensive one - it's a better deal - and Call of Duty. The game pad size isnt bothering him any but he also bought the smaller xbox looking controller. He uses both. :)

On somewhat of a hiatus due to a new job... :)

I'm hoping for the price to drop a bit on it. There are some pretty cool Mario games for it now, but E3 announced several more which will really boost sales. If the price doesn't drop a bit by the end of the year I will buy one for myself. I think with PS4 and the DRM POS XBox One coming out Nintendo might do something, even though the prices of the consoles are different.

Mario is really the main reason I wanted it, but the other games are a draw too...
After I sold the Vita, stashed away my 3DS and only occasionally brought out the Wii - I deemed myself ready.
I know what you mean about the price and since buying a refurb is sketchy at best - us poor folk get to suck it up and either cough up the money, or wait til the price goes down - and by then, the next console is on it's way.... ::)
