New To PS3
« on: January 15, 2012, 04:34 PM »
So I got a playstation a few months back and I've never really played the playstations, any of them so I don't know what's good out there.

I mostly enjoy games like Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and some shooters but I don't know what to rent.

The games I greatly enjoy, I already have for xbox so I have this system but not really much to play on it.

Hmm....Do you like fighting games? Have you ever played Tekken? Tekken 6 is a great game. If you like Mass Effect and Dragon Age you'll probably like Skyrim and Final Fantasy. For shooters Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3 are excellent. If you want to play a mindless game I would suggest Beautiful Katamari- it's a Japanese based game where you roll around a katamari (a little sticky ball) and pick up objects- you start picking up small things and as you grow in size you get to pick up bigger things like animals, cars, people, houses and eventually you get to roll around in outer space and pick up star dust and planets. It's kind of weird but a lot of fun!

Beautiful Katamari actually sounds pretty entertaining. My friend told me I should try Little Big Planet. She loves that game so much she made sack people just like them only made up of different designs.

It's weird, I'm actually more of an xbox fan because that's the first system my dad bought us when they all started coming out with these things. I only owned a ps2 cuz my uncle came up one time and left it. Playstation is so not my area of expertise but I'm learning and the controls are different but at the same time so similar.

I understand...I am an Xbox fan through and through but I have played Playstation. We used to have a PS3 but got rid of it because we never really played it- it just sat around collecting dust so we used it as a blu-ray player for a while but then decided to get rid of it since we had a few blu-ray players. I started out on Nintendo (the NES) and went through a few systems (Snes, Genesis, 64, Dreamcast) and when PS1 came out I enjoyed it - Ps2 was even better but when I played the original xbox for the first time I was in love! Then they came out with the 360 and now I'm addicted and I play almost every day!

I was raised on Sega Genesis and from there I went to Gamecube and finally the original xbox. I never owned anything Sony until like I said my uncle giving me one. It's a different experience with the playstation cuz instead of letters on the buttons it's shapes. It just generally has a different feel than Xbox. If I had to be labeled on either side I would play xbox through and through. I love that system. Playstation at one point was what I wanted cuz I wanted to play final fantasy but now I can play the new ones on xbox. Some part of me wants to still play final fantasy 7 cuz I hear it's epic but that was the only reason I wanted the playstation system. But now I have one and it's like.....what do I play?

You can play Guitar Hero on the xbox but if your strum bar breaks, you'll have to buy a new guitar. >.>
If it breaks while you're playing on the PlayStation, depending on what guitar you have, you can play with the PS button. ^^"

Little Big Planet is really fun and addicting. Sort of dizzying but it's fun. And you can be mega creative. Need For Speed: Shift is funn, Red Dead Redemption & Dead Space are some of my favorites. Bioshock & Bioshock 2 are good shooters with a bit of history/science thrown in there.

You'll enjoy your new system if you have the right games to play. Try looking on the internet, you might find something you like.  :)

My son and I loved versus battle games....

I can suggest Bleach (can be played by up to four players), Mortal Kombat, Naruto and Tekken.

Hmm....Do you like fighting games? Have you ever played Tekken? Tekken 6 is a great game.

I managed to complete Tekken 6 within 3 months of getting the game for Christmas on the year it was released and I also managed to get all the trophies for it.  The only hard thing about the game was unlocking all the trophies everything else was pretty easy.

Personally, I prefer Street Fighter to Tekken.  But sadly to say my Street Fighter skills are not what they use to be when I was in high school, and I'm having difficulties getting all the trophies for both the original, Super and Super Arcade Edition of the games

Yeah, the PS Move games are allot of fun to play but you also need allot of free space to play some of them, especially the Sports orinated games.  I personally like the on the rall shooter games like "The House Of The Dead - Overkill", it is such a fun game to play.

Definitely try Dead Or Alive 5!
I'm so excited for it's release on Sep. 25th.
The graphics are apparently way better. If you haven't played it from its first ancestor, then do give this a shot. I've always loved this since grade school and I think it's blossoming into a greater game over the years. I do hope this will no disappoint.

I finally get a bouquet and it's a goodbye present. That's depressing.

Yea, we got the ps3 move package. It came with sports championship and I had some fun with that. The problem is as of late that I just have to many systems and not enough of me to play all of them. I have a whole bunch of games I want to play. And then I pre-ordered Assassin's Creed III and Halo 4, I'm doomed...
