Sonic the Hedgehog games :)
« on: May 16, 2012, 01:06 AM »
Hi, I was looking through the video games section and was shocked to find that no one was talking about Sonic the Hedgehog games! :O I love them, my favourite character are Shadow and Rouge, but I prefer Shadow. My favourite games are Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Sonic Heroes, and Shadow the Hedgehog. I'd be interested to hear about everyone else's favourite characters, games, etc. and anything about the Sonic universe in general. Also I love the anime Sonic X :D Hope I hear from some fellow Sonic gamers!

I'm a fan of the Sonic games too, but I prefer the old school Sonic games for the Sega Master System and Sega Mega Drive/Genesis.  The newer version of the Sonic just don't have the same appeal to me.

I have got a copy of the new sequal to the original Sonic games, Sonic 4 Episode I and it is a great game.  Which I would highly recommend to other old school Sonic fans.

Even though they're not my favourites, the old school Sonic games are AWESOME! :D I personally prefer a storyline in games, so that's why I like the newer ones. But, a lot of people like the simplicity of the original games, which I completely understand. Also, just so you know, I grew up with the older games; I've actually played them and I don't just like the newer games because I just started playing (because I haven't, I've played the Sonic games for years).
I've played Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I, it's fast-paced, fun, and so much like the originals ;)

As much as I love a game with a good storyline, I don't like the newer Sonic games as much (with the exception of Sonic 4) due to the fact that the developers have overampt the games.  I know that it is only natural with newer version of old classic games, but in the case of Sonic I feel it kinda takes away the charm the original games had to begin.

Older generation here too. I loved Sonic, Sonic 2 (first video game), Sonic 3 (and Sonic and knuckles via cartridge joining. How awesome was that? :D). I also always got a hoot out of playing Sonic 3d. It hurt everyone's eyes I guess, but my screwed up eyes loved it. Past it twice, only one in my family. Still proud of that.

I also liked Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2. I never played any of the other games. I got into mommyhood and writing, so that slowly left me. Last game I bought was Sonic Unleashed and i just couldn't take it.

I do like Sonic X, but I liked Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog when I was younger. (I have the first collection for my daughter. She's almost 4 and loves it.) SonicSat AM, I have that too. That's fun. I also own almost every issue of Sonic up until around 175. Then I just got too old to want to collect anymore.

I fell off track, but yeah, Sonic Games rocked. I wish I could try the newer games but then I'd have to get a new station player of some kind. Last one I got was a Nintendo Gamecube.

If you have an android or an iOS device you could download the first two episode of Sonic 4.  The game is like the old school Sega Mega Drive/Genesis games, which most of us grew up with when we were kides.
