Ripping Yarns
« on: January 18, 2013, 04:30 AM »
Hi there!
My name is Bev Allen and I write "ripping yarns" :)
More correctly, I write YA scific action adventure stuff, but with enough guts, blood and sex for it definitely not to be for the junior end of the YA audience. Think 16 to 96 age group.
First novel, published by Taylor Street is here

Good old Amazon allows you to read the opening few pages for free, but if you want to check me out first, there's some of my short fiction on my Goodreads blog

If all goes to plan ( editors etc), my second book will be out sometime this year.

Happy reading everyone. What would life be like without books.

Sis I edited this to add the other thread we were talking on with links to your Flash Fiction and books:

Psst.. and the second book is even better than the first.  I got dibs on reading the alpha version of it.  It was great.  Kept me up all night to finish it.  I was going to read a bit when I went to bed at midnight.  At 6 a.m I emailed her and said "Thanks a lot.  The book is good, I've had NO sleep"

She's always doing this to  me...

Yep.  it's all her fault.  It has nothing to do with me being old.

NOW you know why I am always going to  take a nap.   :D

Snitch.

I'll tell Mum it was just a young lady practicing to be a fireman.
Ok so it was several young ladies practicing to be firemen.

I was merely advising on how to improve. That's why I was watching so close.

Hi! I'm so happy you finally joined. Philo wants us all to tell you if we like your work or not. I just can't do that. It would be dishonest because I absolutely LOVE your work. You always surprise me and although they are very subtle emotionally, they usually get to me in some way.

You've all made me feel so welcome...thank you.
I'm checking with my publisher to see if it is okay for me to put a sample chapter of my book on here somewhere. Give you all a better idea of what I can do when I have a BIG word count puddle to splash about in :)

I think the samples would go here:  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

If I am wrong Drypen will whack me with the rolling  pin and tell me where to put it...   Why I was helping Suze learn to do something and Drypen threatened me with it.  I don't know why, it only took her 4 hours to get it straightened out with Suze.

That's our specialty. One of the best things about this site IMO is the fact that while you may disagree with someone fighting, name calling, and general nastiness is not allowed. We commonly call ourselves a community vs a forum for that reason.

A sample chapter would be awesome! We also have several members who regularly get ARC's from net galley and the like and review your genre. Quite a few bloggers too!
