Book Review: The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson
« on: December 11, 2012, 01:34 PM »
Name of the book: "The Devil in the White City"
Genre: Historical
Book publish year: 2004
Rating (out of 5): 4.5

Excellent work! Relates the tale of Daniel H. Burnham (designed the "White City" at the center of the 1893 Chicago World's Fair) & H.H. Holmes - a serial killer. Engrossing look into the history of the time (to include intriguing description of the two competing systems of electrical power production) as well as one of the first acknowledged serial killers. As can be seen by the large number of high ratings/reviews out there - a great book and highly recommended!
