Your review:
This is the first book by Kailin Gow that I have read and I was really looking forward to it. I was expecting a great read but was sadly disappointed :( The book was very confusing and the plot was mediocre at best. There were parts where I was going, "Huh? What just happened?" and parts where I just wanted to yell at Lux (the MC) because she was acting like the typical damsel in distress Bella Swan/ Zoey Redfern type: there were not one, not two but THREE love interests in the book and she not only couldn't make up her mind but practically made out with all three of them! This could have been a great book- the plot was intriguing enough to get me to buy it but now I wish I hadn't read it. I'm not sure if the other books by Kailin Gow are as horrible as this one is but as of now I do not plan on reading any more of her books.

*Spoiler Alert

The story centers around a girl, Lux, who is a demon hunter and has seen angels since she was 2. Miraculously her parents are okay with this and when they move to a new town Lux quickly transitions in with the "popular" crowd at school, befriending the dashing Braxton, the bad boy Asher and Moore and Shayne, two beautiful yet creepy twins. As the story progresses Lux is inexplicably drawn to Moore, whom she finds irresistible, begins dating Braxton and continues to flirt with Asher. At the end of the book we discover that Asher is a "new" angel, Braxton is a seer (can see angels and demons) and Moore and Shayne are part human/nephilim and part succubi and they need to drain Asher to remain human or else they will become demons. During the fight I was appalled at the action- there are several parts where the characters literally just stand there as the twins try to drain Asher and I was thinking, "You have got to be kidding me! They're just going to stand there? Seriously?" The book ends with Shayne killing someone and blaming it on Asher who gets thrown in jail, the twins get away, and Braxton disappears. Moore has one last conversation with Lux asking her to save him and she realizes that he is the love of her life and she will do everything in her power to help me. I was sadly disappointed and will not be reading the sequel. I think I'm just going to pretend this book doesn't exist.

* End Spoiler

I would not recommend this book to anyone.

I feel that way about many of Ms. Gow's works. I've read the Frost series and gagged throughout the whole book of Frost Kisses. After that one, I vowed to not buy from her again.

The only series of her that I even sorta liked (which means a 3 instead of 2 or 1) is her Wicked Woods one but since seeing the Frost series go downhill, I've decided no good can come from Wicked Woods either.
